Oscar proved without a doubt he is not in an elite class in this stage of his career. Even fighting a guy like Forbes he was hit way too much. Sure Oscar dominated him but Who's Forbes? He's a guy who was fighting 10 lbs out of his weight class and was even a loser on the TV series "The contender", a show that features only wanna-bes and losers. Guys whose career will never get to anywhere near the elite class of fighters. And yet Forbes was able to shred Oscars defense a few times the other night.
In an earlier post the President of the Oscarsexuals fan club, Windowmaker, had this to say ...... "Oscar allowed Forbes to hit him several times in order to try and catch him with a big counter". .....   Oh hell, no wonder he was hit so much. It wasn't Oscars porous defense, it was Oscar just letting himself get hit. Damn, I should have realized that.

I dont know if Hoya is shot.I just think that night STEVE FORBES proved he is very underrated..Oscar is never gonna be how he was ten years ago..We'll wait n see his next fight to determine that

lets assume widdowmaker is right, and that Oscar did alow himself to get hit so that he could land a big counterpunch, then you would still have to draw one of the following conclusions:

    Either
    - Oscar is slow and no longer a good counterpuncher, even when allowing himself to get hit to land his counters

    or
    - Oscar did land a big counterpunch but his power is no longer good enough to knock out a guy like Forbes

I only seen Oscar as having power in his left hand ... his right hand shots had no effect at all ...

Oscar didn't seem fast ... didn't seem sharp ... and continuously remains stiff w/ no head or shoulder movement.

He proved that he can cloud the judgement of his fans ... he showed that he can put himself in meaningless fights and pass it off as a good competitive bout.

He also proved that his name is gold and just off that he can continue to carry on with this soap opera.

He's by far a hender to the sport and needs to step aside and let younger fighters get some pub.

He shouldn't be fighting Floyd ... he should be fighting someone in a crossroads fight like Shane Mosley is doing.

I don't think that people should hold on to the fact that Forbes has never been KO'd or that he never lost his title in the ring ... blah, blah, blah ...

That was just to hype of the fight ... when you take a deeper look into it you would see Oscar fighting someone who's not the best ... fighting a guy that did his thing at 135 - no 154. No one from the contender show has done anything significant in the sport and proved to be a show to see who's the best stepping stone.

Those guys at 154 ... weren't as strong, fast, or as skilled as Oscar ... so why would that grant Forbes any sorta clout?

So you jump back on the bandwagon after you see Oscar win a fight?

Are you going to change your avatar after Sept?

What do you know about boxing? ... you haven't proved anything but that you know how to be bias ...

DLH won the fight - did what he was supposed to do. Judging how ridiculious the scores were in the DLH/PBF fight, DLH will win the fight unless Floyd KO's him - which I don't see happening

    Thus, setting up DLH-PBF III.

    Sad, but true

I know nothing about boxing? I've been around the fight game a long time, long enough and knowledgeable enough to know that Oscars defense was crap the other night. Here's your take on Oscar the other night taken from your post ..... "That was the best I've seen Oscar look in years. He was moving, up bouncing on his toes and firing that jab like he was 5 years younger, also his handspeed is still slick." ..... Best in years because he was dancing on his
toes?? Good God man, his right hand was pathetic and his power was nil. He had nothing on his head shots. When he went to the body he put a lot behind his blows but upstairs were all arms with not much behind them. He was fighting a guy who is a natural 140 lbr who he should have had no trouble putting him away. Oscar only proved in that fight that his stamina has improved but his power is lacking and his defense is not where it should be.
His ring rust showed through and he certainly was not the fighter that fought PBF. PBF is going to tear some ass when they meet the next time. Oscar is going down hill, it showed in that fight, and he should just forget the money and hang 'em up.
Hater ... yes. But not ignorant!

What pisses me off the most is that there are so many other better fights that could be made for both fighters. Oscar always talks about how he's doing it all for the fans....if that was the case then please spare us the rematch with Floyd.

Oscar needs motivation, he can fight anybody he wants. Mike Tyson would make a comeback if Oscar offered him a fight. Oscar came close to defeating Mayweather the first time and thats the biggest fight for him because if he defeats the p4p #1 at age 36 he sends a message to the world and sets up a MEGA fight with the king of welterweights Miguel Cotto.
