Funny, I kind of think the opposite. I think Quillin has a very good chin, but huge holes in his defense. And offensively, it would be hard to picture him dominating Gennady. Please Oscar, make this fight!
Quillin has a slow pace, he would lose. Only time GGG got backed to the rope was in his last fight against Gaele, who has a fast pace and an in and out style.
Not so much his chin, he has shown good whiskers....to be more specific its the constant pressure, accurate punching and power the GGG has that I'm not sure Quillen can take consistantly...not sure if anyone can take to much coming from that guy. He does have fortitude but he just can't afford to make mistakes in there. Again his overall fight game will surely win him some rounds and he can test GGG chin no doubt.
My thoughts exactly . Quillin catches a beating . Oscar wont let Quillin commit suicide like that . Its ALL talk .
Quillin's tough and scrappy but he's sloppy. He's bigger than GGG, I don't think it would be a walkover like this thing on Saturday, but he'd get stopped. 15 amateur fights and 31 pro fights agains no-hopers won't get it done against GGG, I'd give it 7 rounds.
Smart move by Oscar. Quillin-Korobov is a low money 50/50 fight at best, though I would favor Korobov with better IQ and fundamentals and equal power. With Golovkin, GB might get $1mill for Quillin on HBO, as Golovkin/HBO won't have many options other than Soliman. At the same time, Oscar knocks off one of the pure Haymon fighters in his stable.
