Was interested when it was against Jennings (because of the rematch not the made up belt). When good fights can be made I'll have an interest until then it's a sideshow

Already a thread going on it.

Anyway, **** fight for a **** belt by a **** organization. I'll not call the fighters ****, because Rivas is a trough guy and this young man at least had the guts to step up, but really, Romanov is the #2 contender, and this new opponent isn't even ranked.

    What a farce.

It's not getting more press because it's basically a fight for the Canadian belt.

His opponent is a novice cruiserweight late sub Ryan Rozicki. He was only offered the fight because he already lives in Canada.

The "new division" is a joke considering the heavyweight who holds the WBA, IBF and WBO straps weighs under the "Bridgerweight" limit.

Jennings was so uninterested in fighting for it he didn't get a Covid shot so they wouldn't let him in the country.

I can't believe ESPN is televising this. They used to be the network that spent every FNF bashing the orgs. Now they're actually going to promote the first "Bridgerweight alphabet title fight."

Boxing took two big steps forward with Joshua-Usyk and Fury-Wilder III. And it takes two big steps backward with Whyte's pull out against Wallin and this train wreck tomorrow night.

Maybe if Rivas loses on a cut or something, they'll all forget the whole thing.

Seems like this whole deal is designed to get Rivas a strap, as no other heavyweights were remotely interested and the best cruiserweights weren't, either.

This is Oscar's opponent in his last fight ... the one with the terrible tattoos.

FYI: Rozicki weighed in at 203 pounds. The division limit is 224. So he came in 21 pounds under the limit. :hang

The people who are starting these threads, are probably the same people who invented this division. Nobody cares.

No one's talking about it because no one wants it or cares for it. The fight between Rivas and Rosicki is already making a mockery of the concept of the weight class with a 20lbs disparity between the two men at weigh ins.

Rivas could be the sport's longest run champ after picking up this trinket... 'And the new Emeritus Bridgerweight champion is...'

Look at the end of the day, one of these fighters has a chance to become THE greatest bridgerweight champion of all time.
