Who takes this one ?interesting match up https://www.badlefthook.com/2022/11...-14-espn-doubleheader-verona-boxing-news-2022
I guess I don't know what to believe about either guy. Rivas has shown more, but I don't see why Ajagba would do this unless he saw a path to victory. It's not like anyone was saying "if Efe wants to be taken seriously again, he better take on Rivas."
Rivas missed his boat because of his eye problems, and is now well past it, but Ejagba is useless. I guess this means bridger has flat-lined.
Rivas should win. Ajagba will use his height and reach to outbox Rivas for several rounds but Rivas will eventually land that overhand right and brutally KO Ajagba in the 7th round
Interesting match up, both very limited but both possess fight ending power. I leaning towards Rivas, Ajagba of course has a punchers chance but he's too susceptible to right hands and despite his size doesn't have the skills to maintain distance. Rivas stops him in the mid rounds.
I have Ajagba by KO. He outpointed Demirezen, who is decent. Rivas is small and his only decent win came around four years ago, in a behind-on-points last round KO. Recently he barely managed to get past completely unknown Rozicki.
My first thought was Rivas , then I thought why? He's not exactly all that either .Ajagba might be able to land a big right hand and end this, before Rivas does the same thing to him.
Rivas was up on two of the three scorecards against Jennings and was winning Round 12 as well. He would have won a decision. Not sure what you're talking about with that "in a behind-on-points last round KO"....it wasn't. It was a legit performance and a legit KO win in a fight he was winning anyway.
As it happens I was reading the Boxing Scene article on that fight this morning. Officially he was ahead on two of the three cards going into the 12th against Jennings. I recall it being competitive, and Jennings was still capable of going the distance and hurting Joyce not long after. Actually, I think you are sleeping on Rivas. He has shown far more wrinkles to his game than Ajagba, even if he is old. Ajagba has no one of particular note on his resume and lost his first real test. Rivas may have slipped, but it would have to be off a cliff to lose this one.
Ajagba is too big and too strong. Going for him to win at some point by KO on a back and forth fight.
It isn't a signature punch but he's rocked people hard with it multiple times probably because he's short so i expect nothing less against Ajagba
