An eerily similar performance to the one which Sam Peter gave against Vitali Klitschko a short time ago. Here are the three most noteworthy parallels:

    * Quit on his stool after the eighth round

    * Won only one round of 24 possible on the three judges' scorecards

    * Though never knocked down, took a systematic beating and could not land anything of note against his opponent

To be fair, ODLH actually got a couple of decent shots in against Pac, whereas Peter landed almost nothing at all against Klitschko. And, of course, Peter was not moving up 2 weight classes and Sam was not the overwhelming betting favorite that ODLH was.

I still cannot believe what happened last night. So many were so sure that this was a circus fight (including myself) and Pac would be easily KO'd, and then he comes out and totally and utterly humiliates ODLH in a manner that, to me, was 10 times more shocking than what happened in Pavlik vs Hopkins.

Manny Pacquiao turned the only man in history to have won belts in 6 weight classes into the Sam Peter who fought Vitali Klitschko. Incredible. The most thorough and complete domination of a true great of the sport since Calzaghe-Jones. And, of course, ODLH's defeat was that much worse since he was never remotely close to really hurting Pac let alone putting him on the canvas as did Jones and his forearm to Calzaghe.

Nah that's unfair on Peter. He was always gonna get a beating and was much smaller. A lot of people thought DLH was going to hand out the beating last night. I'm not unhappy though, im pleased he got beat.

    Fair enough. :good

I agree with you, Peter was always going to get a beating and he was in no way looked at as was Oscar going into this fight, where it was supposed Vitali had no possible shot and the fight was essentially a carnival match.
