Liam Smith was the JrMW WBO champion. He is considered one of Canelo's lower tier opponents but would be almost on par if not on par with one of Golovkin's top wins in David Lemieux. Think about that for a second. Liam Smith and David Lemieux are just as accomplished as one another. And I reiterate, Liam Smith is not considered a great win for Canelo like Lemiuex is for GGG.

Rocky Fielding was also the WBA regular champion. He was there for the taking. Absoloutely nothing wrong with fighting world champions in their respective divisions. Canelo went to 154 for Smith, and 168 for Fielding. GGG demanded a fight with Roles at 164 and made Martirosyan and Brook come to 160.

Fielding, Smith > Roles, Martisrsyan, and the guy GGG is fighting next.

 

He didn't fight the #1 SprMW, now he's not fighting the top LtHW either. And i'm sure you considered Liam Smith the #1 JrMW at the time as well. idiot...
