never once mentioned a dq with the Lemieux fight...and I wouldn't call canelo a can...

it should happen at at cw...the belt has been passed twice and defended 3x in a row at a cw...just face the reality of what it is.....be thankful theres a guy like canelo to possibly fight....because without him theres nothing worth anything.....

I consider canelo closer to a mw than cotto ....although I don't think canelo has had a chance to get that solid 160 tuneup test that he should get.....so I don't consider him a mw yet........hes the a-side...if its going to happen likely its going to have to be at a cw

you say "I know you don't want it at 160"....which is why you are missing the whole point...if canelo said ok to 160 id be more than fine with it....what could I do or say? if canelo were comfy with that then that's what it is and im all for it....but he clearly isn't ....and that's why ggg is going to have to concede if that's what canelo wants.......this belt has been passed around at less than 160......stop acting like yer all about the sanctity of this wbc 160lb belt....all the sanctity is gone.....

Sort of clever by Oscar turning the conversation onto splits when Canelo won't fight at 160 for a 160 unification fight because he is a coward.

People buy the PPV to hopefully watch a good fight, drink, mingle then it's back to the same routine. I know what it is as im informed on the particulars to the politics side of the event, which turned out quite well for K2 and the people involved, but 150k in ppv buys just looks bad no matter what, and fans tend to care more about the PPV buys than anything else, really. The fans are what make you a star, no one buys your PPV well how can you be a star? GGG has a pretty big fan base, i would have thought 300k at least.

It should happen at 160, two (or three in this case) wrongs don't make a right so what happened with Cotto and Martinez - it doesn't mean anything, that was just more bull**** that shouldn't have happened.

If you think there's nothing wrong with what Canelo is doing I don't consider you a proper boxing fan and that's all I can say on the matter, my views are just too different.

You couldn't say anything if it happened at 160, but it's obvious you don't want it to and no amount of prefacing it here with a bunch of baloney when all your other posts indicate the exact opposite is going to change my opinion of that.

I thought it'd do about 250k, GGG is a star but just not as big a star as the likes of Canelo, Mayweather, Pacquiao to do big numbers against a pretty mediocre opponent.

Agreed. GGG is going to have to budge to Canelo's demands if he wants to land the fight, and don't be surprised if the fight happens at a Catchweight. And I'm sure if GGG felt like he would be compromised going into the fight at a CW than i know he will not accept any of the CW terms. But if he does accept hopefully all his fans are as confident as him, and may the best man win. No Excuses!

Maybe, but if it happens at a CW and GGG loses, you can expect excuses from me for sure and most GGG fans.

Hey, some of his fans claimed he was a natural 154 lber and was a small Middleweight, and he himself said 154 for Floyd was no problem. He actually believed that! I gotta take his word for it!:yep

Bolded the part that matters, if he was a natural JMW he'd be fighting there.

One thing I often hear is how Ward is basically the same size as GGG, if he was the same size why is 164 such a problem for him when 160 for GGG is no problem at all? :think And he's younger than GGG too.

Ward is bigger no doubt about it, but it's not a really huge difference IMO. I think Wards detractors go off of that more now days because he is fighting as a LHW. And it's always harder to lose 4 extra pounds opposed to gaining 4 extra pounds.
