In fairness, they both need each other, but for different reasons. GGG needs the exposure and a win against an elite fighter to show that he is legit. Canelo doesn't need GGG for money reasons. He will still make very good money with or without him. However, if he ducks GGG or insists on fighting below 160 then it will effect his status as a take on all comers type. This is a rep that no boxer really wants due to the backlash from fans, but it is even worse for Mexican boxers. Some Mexicans have even started turning on Canelo.

For A/B side rights and legacy, both guys need each other.
