[yt]njLEhInf1OI[/yt] That man ran more in the last 3 rounds than I've ever seen anyone run in a boxing ring. Not only did he run in the ring, he didn't throw a damn punch. God. Everything he spews out of his mouth... sour g****s...salt....unable to live without Mayweather in his mind. Mayweather has ripped on him for the last 8 years talking about how he kicked Oscar's ass. Oscar has never been able to live down that loss. That loss hurts him the most. The funniest part of it all is that he still thinks he lost a "close" split decision. Anyone who has eyes that can see knows that he lost that fight by 6 rounds. 9-3. 117-111. That's irrefutable. And after Mayweather shut him out of Mayweather vs Pacquiao, that destroyed him. He probably went and started sniffing lines of coke and put on them fishnets again :nod We're getting the Cotto/Canelo fight next week and he can't stop talking about Money May. It's because he knows Money sells and he needs him to help sell PPV's.
Ronda rousey should sue oscar for using her patented tactic of using floyd to sell her name....and bob arum should sue rouse for stealing it from him
No doubt. Oscar was doing a damn good Jesse Owens impersonation in the last 3 round of the Trinidad fight. That impersonation, however, is eclipsed by how he ran from the rematch. Was most likely the smart thing to do seeing as 154 Trinidad probably would have knocked him out cold...
I believe Oscar said in that interview that he learned a lesson from the Tito fight; to never run in a fight, or in life (you can argue that he ran from problems in his personal life but I'd rather not play armchair psychiatrist). Oscar ran in one fight but that was very much the exception to the rule. Floyd is a better boxer than Oscar was but I admired Oscars determination to take chances and fight the best.
It was okay for Oscar to run in that fight, I don't blame him. Trinidad simply hit too hard for Oscar to handle. He didn't want to end up like Taylor in the Chavez fight so he survived the last 3 rounds because Trinidad's chunky punches had an extremely adverse effect. Even so, that fight ruined Oscar for life. He was never the same after. The man got tito's into oblivion, which is why he didn't want the rematch. He knew wtf time it was. Nothing wrong with that though.
The Trinidad fight is EASILY the most significant fight of de la Hoya's career. That fight is comparable to Leonard Hearns in terms of its significance. Two *very* popular undefeated welterweights. Puerto Rico vs Mexican American. This fight was the highest selling non-heavyweight PPV to date. Saying that Oscar "ran in one fight" is understating the significance of his performance considering the stage on which this fight was set. It would be more accurate to say that Oscar ran in *the* fight which would define his career.
Stupid thread(expected from OP though). FLoyd ran more in each of his fights than DLH ran his whole career.
true, but dlh still should have won the despite the running. what a boring fight that turned out to be.
