Oscar that fought Trinidad, Hatton that beat Tszyu, Mosley that beat Margarito.......

It's not much to go off, but, this is a good indicator of the quality of Valero.

Linares is/was touted as a special young fighter with elite, sublime talent. Yet he crashed against a solid De Marco; the same De Marco that Valero cut through like hot knife and butter.

 

Hatton does get crapped on, I agree. But at the same time, some of us are guilty re-living his magical night against Kosta for a brief moment, and falling back into believing he was a demi-God at light welterweight. Hatton was good, he was exciting, bla bla bla. But he was still very beatable, even in his prime.

And sure, the majority of Valero’s wins were against nobodies, but, he was on the verge of facing and beating some decent opposition. That De Marco, who we all know now is more than just a Prizefighter candidate, was brushed aside and made to quit like a nobody. And that was against a Valero that was only 60-70% towards reaching his full potential.

Hatton's performance against Malignaggi was as good as he ever looked IMO. He was every bit as impressive in becoming the first man to stop Malignaggi and beating him down MUCH easier than Miguel Cotto managed to, as he was when beating a past-prime, rusty, demotivated Kostya Tszyu.

 

Pacquiao only recently moved up to lightweight as well when he was matched up against Hatton by the fans. Valero has a big physique, you would have been surprised to see him meet Hatton in the ring as they would have just looked like about the same size.

Name me any fighter that has done the same feat as Valero did. They may be tomato cans to you but they're not made to get knocked out in there. You should know that

 

You put too much shine on the KO's, he was finally getting to the point where he was fighting good opposition, that would of gave us a much better idea of how good Valero was. I don't deny the man was a great puncher and finisher, but he was not fighting guys with the tools to fight him back, DeMarco had limited success, and Is a level below Hatton IMO.

Malignaggi isn't ****. He recieved TWO gifts..Against Herman Ngoudjo and Lovemore Ndou. He got his ass brutally kicked by Cotto, and then a way past primed Hatton.

His greatest victory was against a part time boxer, who was an blown up Featherweight, fighting Paulie at Jr. Welter Weight.

Mayweather KTFO Hatton, Collazo nearly KTFO Hatton, and a shot Lazcano nearly KTFO Hatton but the ref saved ol' Ricky.

The Hatton of the Tszyu fight was LONG GONE by the time pac fought him.

 

Oscar and Mosley stop Pac, Pacquiao KOs any version of hatton fast, yes even the hatton who fought Mayweather.

 

Too bad he fights 12 rounders. Olympic boxing is full of bull****, Oscar's biggest win is Fernando Vargas :rofl

I don't see it, I think Pac does KO Hatton, but after a long and difficult fight.

 

Valero-Hatton would be identical to Pac-Hatton.

 

The Hatton of the Tszyu fight needed a lot of home cooking to get by a great champ well past his best days. Hatton in the US = scrappy white boy, nothing more.
