I know as a fighter he was bloody awsome and obviously thought the complete opposite to what he does now as a promoter.
That Chavez fight I think most of us gave Canelo n Oscar credit for in that he was leaving behind fighting smaller guys but there was a few on here that called it for what it ended up being,whilst some of dared hope that Chavez would present problems that awful catchweight drained the **** out of him,he was so thin on those scales no amount of rehydration was gonna help him,quite simply he was weakened to provide Canelo with a human punching bag just so they could get credit for leaving 154 and beating a bigger guy.

In hindsight it's not just a mismatch it was potentially very dangerous for Chavez doing that,you're right about Oscar and Canelo has to take blame as well for these stupid catchweights,he could of picked any middleweight and would have had a better test and tune up for GGG but they instead put on the worst PPV card in history and what's more I defy any Canelo n Oscar fan on here to deny that.

 

Plus the years have not treated him well. He has gotten fat and stupid looking.

 

Oscar was also not as great a fighter as many of you are lamenting. Sure he deserves to in the HOF and fought everyone but some of the superlatives being bandied about are a bit much.
