Shot fighter vs. an incredibly protected, although pretty exciting young fighter. Typical Bob Arum bull****.

This fight could be labelled as the 'Fake Name Fight'.

DLH, a name who once was a great fighter, shot as hell nowadays, and JCCJr., who carries the name of a once great fighter - but he himself never was even close to be great - and never will be.

Pretty pathetic, but I see the hype potential. As well as the Bobfather...



This fight is Bob Arum's dream fight BTW, not Oscar De La Hoya's, guys! He waited Oscar to get really old and shot and now he's pulling this bull**** off.

 

Oscar just want to make more money here.

He knows a Chavez Jr. fight will appeal to the Mexicans and they'll try and market the fight as Chavez Jr. taking revenge for his father.

I really hope Jr. beats Oscar and finishes him for good. Go Chavez :happy:happy:happy:happy

 

i actually like this for dlh. give the young guy the same chance that jcc sr gave de le hoya when he was young. maybe the mexican people will finally forgive him for beating sr and blabbering about it

 

I've seen JCC Jr. fight and he would get massacred. Dude is very hittable at times he is confused and unsure what to do, he tries to fight inside like his pops, but with his build it just doesn't work well. Any pressure fighter thats B class maybe C can take this kid out, I mean sure Oscar is shot as hell, but are you kidding me JCC Jr?

Don't get me wrong he does have a few things going for him, such as 1.) his handlers are very protective and even though he is fighting bums he is amassing quite a bit of experience, 2.) The kid is young as hell, so I am sure given another 2-3 years he has the potential of becoming a great fighter, 3.) he has the name that instantly makes him a star. Unfortunately, none of this translates into him fighting Oscar!

Point blank, the kid is too young inexperience and hasn't even fought close to the oposition of a shot Oscar.

Yep, probably. I read **** about this atleast a year ago...the whole son gets revenge for his father angle. You know how GBP can spin ****, they just might make it into a huge ****in' deal down there and it may fly.

If so, I also hope JCC Jr. can pull it off.

De La Hoya would do better by actually beating opponents, Arum could hype it up as a 'Re-Birth', De La Hoya vs. Sergio Mora and the winner gets Vernon Forrest in another PPV rip off

 

Like with alot of boxing matches this is all hype and little substance. Everyone knows that Oscar is completely done and there's no top names that he could even contend with. But this fight would sell huge in Mexico. Destroying Chavez, Sr. twice made Oscar a huge villain to mexican fans as well as Mexican fans never really took to Oscar because they didnt see him as a "warrior" (case in point the last few rounds of the Trinidad fight). 100,000 seats would be sold in hopes Oscar got destroyed and Jr. got revenge for his father.
