Oscar was a natural 147 fighter. Tank is a natural 135 fighter. Tank is lightyears better than ODLH but with size being a thing Oscar wins. If you put a 130 or a 135 version of Oscar in there with Tank however then it's almost a mismatch.
Prime Oscar was a welterweight so he beats Tank, simply too big, too powerful, we have weight divisions for a reason. But if were talking a young lightweight Oscar then I could see Davis taking a green Oscar to school. Oscar doesn't have the right hand to deal with a southpaw, he struggled with southpaws Pacquiao and Whittaker. Oscar was very talented and skilled fighter but I feel he wasn't the smartest fighter, the fight with Tito which he won but really screwed himself by thinking he was ahead and so coasted the final rounds. Then the first Mosley fight where he tried to be overly aggressive, probably to make up for the Tito performance and ended up fighting Mosley's type of fight. He didn't always pick the right fight plan and so I could see him losing if he did that and tried to blow the counter punching Tank out. If he moves and boxes he could win a decision though but I'm just not confident he'd pick the right strategy.
WOW, another great thread by 'gotcha'. Without miniq's typical nuthuggery, it's a credit to you and @Juan carlos for keeping this forum alive.
Gotta be joking...Oscar would pummel his midget ass lol People like to **** on Oscar nowadays cos he's a fat cokehead in fishnets..but he was a bad man in the ring and had balls like spacehoppers ...great fighter
Lol when I first read this, I thought yall were talking about Oscar Valdez. But curious, who would win between Oscar Valdez and Tank Davis?
The 135 Oscar who iced Ruelas and Leija in 2 rounds a piece and shattered Genaro's nostrils would decapitate Twink's bowling ball head, if the later would ever face him that is which of course he wouldn't.
We need two see Tank face a better level of challenge than he has to this point.. Maybe he's up to it, maybe not. From what we've been so far, Oscar takes this. But if tank beats Loma and / or Haney, and picks up a decent win or two at 147, I might change my mind.
