How do you think their fight in the pros would go down. It looks like Lomachenko was owning him here.

Would definitely be a good matchup I think. Hard to say who wins though. They both have changed a lot since this match...

To be fair, while Lomachenko was only 21, he already had nearly 300 fights, while Valdez was coming from a country without much amateur program at that time, he also was about 18/19.

The real fight to be talking about at FW is Valdez-Jojo diaz. Jojo beat him in the amatuers, and fights in the same division. That's a fight I'd love to see right there!

FYI Lomachenko broke his hand in the 1st or 2nd fight of this World Championships and this was his 4th fight. So that's one handed and he beat former World Champion Vodopyanov (GRJ conqueror in 2007) 12-1 after the Valdez fight.

I think Lomachenko should've turned pro after this championships in 2009. Those few more years as an amateur made him specialise a little too much in the amateur construct.

I genuinely believe Lomachenko was more suited to pros then, than in 2013.
