Oscar vs the Duran of Davey Moore fight.

Would Oscar just move around the ring like SRL did.....peppering Roberto with punches.....or would Duran thumb Oscar in the eye and make Oscar wish he was home trying his "fishnets" back on for size?

I think Duran would have a very good chance to upset Oscar. His momentum and hand speed was more varied than was Chavez's for one thing and I think he would have done better in the later rounds than ODLH....especially if it was a 15 rounder. On the other hand if Oscar kept to a disciplined jab and move style and if he would forego any attempt to try to cut or stop Roberto, then he would have a chance at a narrow decision win. It's a hard one to call.

This is a bad style matchup for Duran. Oscar beats him easily.

Any chance of Oscar to beat Duran would be lighter than 154 when Oscar was in his prime. And it would't happen by any means.

And I'm a big DLH fan...

If Oscar were to topple Duran, this would be the weight. Duran was too inconsistent at these higher weights.

As has been stated, Duran takes it at lower weights but at the higher ones he has his off nights. Still, Duran pummels 7/10

Duran over 147 is far from the formidable monster people make him out to be. For every brilliant performance he was capable of producing, he could also be beaten by fighters less talented and skilled than Oscar.

Oscar has the speed and skills to win at 154 BUT:

Davey Moore was one of Roberto's finest post Montreal performances. He fought a tight, sound fight with lots of calculated aggression and really drowned the younger fighter when he started to show cracks. Then, when he had wounded prey in front of him, he tore his head off, figuratively but almost literally.

This Duran I'd favor over Oscar. DLH could get sucked into brawling too frequently(Mosley, Vargas, Quartey, Mayorga), and if he did anything but circle and flurry, he'd be playing right into this version of Duran's hands.

I see this going alot like the Mosley I fight-Oscar is better and tougher than Moore, and I think he lasts the distance, but is cleanly outfought and outconnected, dropping the gameplan round after round and getting hit with right hands for his mistake.
