    "Oscar wants Manny at 147

    It’s 147 lbs or nothing.

Eric Gomez, vice president of Golden Boy Promotions, said Oscar dela Hoya won’t settle for anything lower than 147 lbs as the official weight of a possible showdown with Manny Pacquiao in December.

“It will have to be at 147 — nothing more, nothing less,” said Gomez who was in the town recently.

The statement sends a signal to the Pacquiao camp that if they’re thinking of luring Dela Hoya to a weight lower than 147 lbs, probably at 145 lbs, they should think again.

Gomez also said, “145 is out of the question.”

Dela Hoya, according to Gomez, can no longer make it at 145 lbs, considering that he has fought his recent fights at 150 lbs or at light-middleweight.

Dela Hoya will have to sacrifice a lot just to make 147 lbs, and a give the fight that a lot of people are hoping to see a chance. An Internet report said an announcement would come out in 10 days.

“I don’t think Oscar can make 145 anymore,” said Gomez.

Pacquiao said he’s willing to face Dela Hoya at 147 lbs but said he might show up for the official weigh-in at 142 lbs and climb the ring for the fight not heavier than 149 lbs."

He's only just made 135, how's he going to make 147?

What's the point of this? Might as well come in at 147 and only have 2lb of hydration to do, his body would be in much better shape.

I know where your coming from, but it's increasingly looking like it's very much on the cards.

Pacquaio is definitely appearing to be the front runner for that fight at the moment. Cotto is probably out(but you never know), Margorito won't get the shot,no jr middles make sense, DLH won't fight at middleweight again, so Pacquaio and don't be surprised if Zab Judah fights DLH if he beats Clottey..

Yes! I know..coming from a pac fan. I don't want to see pac being KOd! But if indeed it happens and for some strange reason PAC wins. It is upset of the year or upset of the decade?!

I'm thinking that maybe - and I could be very wrong - they come into the ring with an excess of water and nutrients in their bodies knowing that their bodies are going to be surtaxed during 12 grueling rounds.

I dont think Oscar should have a big problem making 147 considering hes 150. I wouldnt be shocked if he weighed in like 148 1/2 and they just lie or something.

Neither. Carlos Quintana 8 or 9 to 1 underdog against PW was it? Pac won't be such a huge underdog.

I think they're doing it close to what they've done in the past like for example Manny's last fight, he weigh-in at 135 lbs. and weigh around 146 lbs. on fight night. So 142 to 149 is just like the normal regimen as compared to 147 to 149.

what a complete waste of time why is Delahoya pulling for this pointless match, it wont make him P4P #1 regardless and its a ****ing embarrasment to his legacy. I dont blame Pac or anyone else for wanting to fight DLH they have nothing to lose and everything to gain in the DLH sweepstakes.

because Oscar can only beat guys 3 or 4 weight class below him at this stage in his career.

If Pac takes it I hope its for a huge as payday, I can't blame the guy if he did. But Oscar on the other hand is a shame and shell of his former self.
