And all the pac-huggers need to realize this. He looked slow as **** against Mayweather, Mosley, Forbes and Sturm. Bernard Hopkins beat the **** out of him years ago. The only time he's looked half-decent in the last 6 years is with the Mayorga fight and the Campas fight, hardly top level opposition. Against everyone else he's fought since Fernando Vargas, 6 years ago, he's been looking more and more shot. If he didn't own his own promotional company he would've disappeared years ago. Just like Holyfield can get title shots aged 44 despite being horrible shot and putting himself at risk, De La Hoya used his name to get the Pac fight. The only reason people were giving him the edge was coz of the size difference, which shows just how you can't reduce boxing to weights and numbers. In every other respect, De La Hoya was shot YEARS ago. David Diaz was **** too. :yep:yep
if that was true you would have posted it long before he lost to pacman. you didn't. so it's a glory post.
:yep:yep:yep De La Hoya's best days were pre-1999, pre-Trinidad. Shane Mosley showed him who was boss not too long after I believe. 9 years later he's **** ALL compared to what he used to be. Shane Mosley was always a better fighter than De La Hoya anyway.
The win for Pac over Cadaver Delahoya is the most overrated victory in recent years. He looked like Skeletor with boxing gloves.
The Trinidad fight exposed DLH as a front runner ... he wasn't shot ... he sure as hell wasn't shot when he fought Hopkins.
Oscar did what he could in the ring...He fought the best and lost to the best!! HIS DAYS NOW SHOULD BE AS A PROMOTER AND BECOMING A PROMOTER FOR THE FANS AND FIGHTERS UNLIKE KING WHO IS A ***** AND STEALS FROM HIS FIGHTERS!!
He gave Mayweather the fight of his life save Castillo in their first fight. Dude, the man's shot now, okay. Granted. But shot years before?
Au contraire, my man, Tito was Oscar's last great victory. (You know boxin' Jack, so you know that was a walkover) He lost to Mosley not long after, and even though he outboxed Mosley in the rematch, it was not decisive. No great victories since. I love Mayorga, but he's not on the same skill level as the big boys. That fight was a foregone conclusion. I thought it would be a 12-0 shutout, but the KO was a bit of a surprise. He wasn't shot after Tito, but he was past his best. Tito is a different story. Tito's skill level was exposed somewhat that night against Oscar. Rarely has someone of that level been so completely schooled and out boxed, at least not till Winky got a hold of him. He was shown to rely heavily on his big punch to get the job done. And after Bernard's boys caught him doing ****** business with his mitts, he never had another victory of any real note again. Done at 28.
No, he wasn't shot against Mayweather or Forbes ... he was exposed for being a one handed fighter -- He was never that great ... he fought a bunch of guys he was physically faster and/or stronger than and it got him far through his journey to the top, but as far as the true athletic and skillful fighters he lost -- Trinidad - more relentless took his heart away Mosley - faster and more athletic Hopkins - stronger and more athletic Mayweather - more skilled and more athletic Pacquiao - faster
Past his prime, but not shot. Fighting like he had trained in a concentration camp is what did it. 147?!atschHe looked like a walking corpse.:skull Oh well, served the greedy ******* right.
