Any TRUE boxing fan with an ounce of sence will rate Pac vs ODLH along the same lines as Calzaghe vs RJJ, Holmes vs Ali, Lewis vs Tyson etc.

It was a nothing match. :deal

Don't get me wrong, I think Hoya could have been in much greater shape, his nutritionist screwed things badly, even Roach said so. I put it down to a little past prime, bad nutritionist and coming down in weight for the first time in what, 7-8 years all played it's part.

Due to these factors my original statement still stands and I agree it is easy to say that in hindsight with all the evidence before us.

Actually a peak Gatti is better than Margo, and yes DLH can be hit but his defense is still light yrs ahead of Margo's IMO.

He was not shot against Pacquiao, he was simply weight drained. If the fight had been at a healthy weight for De La Hoya, like 154lbs, it would have been a VERY different story. Congratulations to Pacquiao for doing his job, but Oscar's weight loss killed him. Oscar would still be able to fight at 154lbs, I reckon.

    no

because those who won were all expected to win a one-sided fight and did, in the case of Pac/DLH it was the underdog who won a one-sided fight.

Oh wait a second....I thought it was a no brainer that DLH didnt have a chance before the fight because we already knew he was shot.

How did his weight loss kill him? He had been at under 147 according to the 24/7 specials for a long time prior to the scales?

    :hey
