Oscar was the only one talented enough to beat Floyd

I don't think Mayweather loses a fight unless he fights until he is 36 and some young gun catches him on the decline.

On talent levels i think Oscar was the only one with the hand speed, power and accuracy (as well as the good jab) to beat Mayweather. Seeing as Floyd whooped a slightly declined version of Oscar i can't see him losing to anyone else.

I think a Pacquaio fight will be great and i will be behind Manny the whole way. But Floyd is too big and too good a boxer for Manny and will edge him out.

Thoughts... i brace myself for a public flogging

think you may be right a prime oscar would have had the most chance of beating floyd. i also agree about pacman, i think his defence when he comes forward is non existent and floyd would expose that. i also think a prime trinidad would have gave him problems

oscar and floyd would have been great at 130/135

i doubt floyd will be fightig by then he would be losing to the likes of devon alexander and khan who will definitely beat him by then.

Oscar.. period... regardless of the time... he was the only one in the Floyd/Pac Man era that would have given Floyd a run for his money. I guess it would have to have been a prime Oscar

Oh right...I wasn't sure what you were saying. I thought you meant he was the only one capable of beating him in history, I could name at least a hand full who I think would beat him in history, or give him the fight of his life.

But yeah, prime Oscar would have a great chance. I'd give Pacquiao the greatest chance since Castillo 1 to give Mayweather his first defeat (I had Mayweather winning Castillo 1...I think it was by 1 point). Mayweather definitely has the edge stylistically though, and a couple of other advantages...but I'd expect Pacquiao to push him all the way.

I thought that Oscar won their fight actually.

I agree that Pac will not have enough for Floyd and can't think of anyone that woul have right now.

I think, if we're counting 154 guys like Oscar for the era, Wright and Forrest had a real good chance.

Good point... but i don't think Winky beats him and i haven't seen more than 6 of Vernon's fights so cant really comment on him. But from what i saw he would give Mayweather a problem.

I only gave Oscar 4 rounds. I think that was the majority view but i dont care... its just how i saw it. And i really don't see how anyone can score it differently

Oscar could have even beat him in 07 had he not abandoed the jab. That fight proved that a prime Oscar would have pulled it out.

Did you forget about Castillo-Mayweather I?

Forrest had a chance: that's 1 fight I was counting on but Forrest had a carrer full of injuries and wasn't 100% after the surgery. He had a few if I remember well. RIP
