Oscar is also a promoter first, fighting someone he was promoting and making money at the time vs Manny, why would he even mention a catchweight and taint the fight and ruin millions set to go in his pocket at the time............................................................. This is the same Oscar who laid down vs BHop, who later turned out to be his fighter also:deal Fish nets has no shame
You think everything in contracts get released to the public, secret clauses happen all of the time.................. People dont talk about the 1 million per pound penalty Cotto was faced with, it only come to light when Roach slipped up. If these fight contracts get released alot of people would be surprised at the ****ery Answer this question does it make sense to fight and dismantle ODH at 147, and fight Cotto at 145, the same 145 odh weighed in at, Pac fans wont touch that one because it makes too much damn sense
Good post. And all of the clauses Pac had with oscar were released, the details are at ***********. it wasn't Pac per se, mainly Koncz. But Pac went along with it :-( At least Oscar accepted, unlike Pac did vs Floyd
Dude....this is just stupid!! So in the absense of ANY form of proof, any talk of a rehydration clause or catchweighgt for this fight, NOTHING SAID, you think the ONLY reason DLH did this was because it was all done in secret? For ****'s sake man. DLH held all the cards here, not Pac. But one thing you miss, we all KNEW about the weight Cotto agreed too Why the **** would it be secretly done for DLH? You can grasp all the straws you want, but this is just your and Turbo's bull****. As for Roach's comments...I have never heard that. Adding a source would help this out a HUGE amount.
Link the article Beiber. All I saw at the scene was an article stating the fight would be off if goldy didn't make weight. NOTHING of a catchweight or rehydration clause.
http://www.muscleandfitness.com/news-and-features/athletes-and-celebrities/golden-boy-training "My weight doesn't fluctutate much," Oscar says. "I consider myself a natural welterweight. Right now, I've been able to come down to 145, feeling strong and fast and full of energy. As long as you take care of body and eat the right foods, you're good. And these mini-camps in between are big. A lot of athletes let themselves go." But still, Garcia had to monitor Oscar's weight training so that he wouldn't pack on too much muscle during his main training camp, keeping the focus on core strength and flexibility to complement his boxing work. "I don't really lift any weights anymore," Oscar says. "The only weight that I lift is with a tornado ball. Other than that, it's just normal push-ups and pull-ups. I might use five-pounds here and here." During his mini-camps, it's a different story. Garcia helped Oscar focus on building strength, speed and power. "We start from ground up," says Garcia. "Monday is leg day and we focus on the big lifts -- squat, lunge, depth lunge and some total body conditioning. Next day is more core work with abs, twists, low back strengthening and we work flexibility throughout. Then an upper body day that's all push-pull. We want him using equal weight pushing and pulling because that makes him very symmetrical. So that when you're throwing a punch, everything is very even."
And you're a pathetic liar. You can't produce ONE iota of anything that suggestes either a rehydration clause, or a catchweight. You just make these assumptions on the little intel you have. And you have to gaul to talk down on *******s like YOU are so much better? You're just a sad little liar Beiber, pretending to be some die hard boxing fan. And the worst thing? You're such an arrogant **** you won't back down at all...you'll take your weak ass assumptions over anything else.
Relax.....believe whatever you want. I'm not here to save you...just provide some food for thought and express my on opinions. It's just funny how some posters pick and choose what to believe when it benefits their point of view. I try to use logic, facts and track record to formulate my opinion on any topic. But others have their own method of formulating their opinions. And no....I didn't admit to an alias. People know who I am....not these newbies with limited ESB experience...but the folks who have been here for years. If it was really an alias I would just deny it and be like some other clowns who have an objective.....Don't read too much into it...you might hurt yourself kid.
Oscar hadn't been at 147 for almost a decade. That anyone would think that he could comfortably make the weight is beyond me. That was the whole purpose of hiring a nutritionist. DLH routinely got his ass kicked in sparring for this fight, sported a black eye and looked like crap in all of the 24/7 footage, and looked like absolute death at the weigh-in. The man had no business at 147.
Well....aren't you perceptive. And I'm sure you don't think I'm dumb...but because you're offended, you wanna throw out some lame insults meant to hurt my feelings. Coming from you.....being dumb means I'm ****ing Einstien compared to a knuckle head like you.:rofl If no one cared about my original screen name or my "alias" it wouldn't have been brought up. I guess being thick headed is just one of your many problems. I don't think being banned from an internet boxing forum is really hard to describe as 99% of us have been one time or another. Fall back junior.....I sense you're a little heated.
So now Roach actually saw the IV coming out of DLH's arm?:huh Calm down there kid.....you're a little excited and creating your own reality.
Any talk of a "rehydration clause" for the DLH vs PAC fight is a real as unicorns, fairies and pixie dust.... I understand why some folks want to believe it but in all reality NO commission would ever allow or agree to have such a clause imposed for any fighter or athlete under their watch. The reason there's a weigh in 24 hours before a fight is not because some knuckle head said "hey.....let's weigh in a day before the fight"....it's because of all the health complications and risks involved with cutting weight and NOT RE HYDRATING to give the athletes a chance to replenish essential nutrients and fluids that are flushed out when having to cut weight. There's no record, proof or facts to support this rumor and you can bet no commission would ever give their "OK" if this kind of clause ever came across their desk.
