I Keep Hearing All This Stuff About Tito Vs Oscar At 170...oscar Has Come Out Numerous Times And Said He Doesnt Fight At 160 Lbs So Why Would He Fight At 170...the Reason Trinidad Dlh 2 Was Never Made Was Cuz Of Weight Issues...tito Said He Dont Fight At 154 And Oscar Said He Dont Fight At 160...i Think This Fight Will Happen In The Next 24 Months Somewhere In Between 154 And 160 But Why Is It U Think Oscar Would Move Up To 170 Where Hed Be Fat Like Vargas--if The Tito Dlh 2 Fight Takes Place Its Probably Around 157lbs....hopefully 1 Day These 2 Will Do It Again!!!
A few3 years ago, DLH had made a comment on Jones' opponents, saying how bad they were and Jones told DLH to come up in weight and take care of him. DLH quickly renegged his statement and said Jones could come down to fighty him. DLH would NEVER have the balls to fight someone like Jones so far away from his best weight.
He fought Hopkins, but truth be told he thought Hopkins was too old and ready for the taking :yep Hopkins even came in at 156 for that fight. DLH only fights on his terms.
It wouldn't make sense for him to fight at 170lbs when he is making 154lbs, so it's a nonissue which isn't even worth talking about.
The Trinidad-DLH rematch could have been made when Trinidad was campaigning as a 154 pounder, but it never happened because DLH wanted the much bigger piece of the financial pie when before they met at 147 lbs, Tito and Papa Trinidad had promised that the financial roles would be reversed when Trinidad beat him. Straight out greed and ego on DLH's part has prevented this rematch from taking place.
That's exactly what happened. DLH wants to call all the shots every time out. Even if that means he won't get a chance to avenge a loss. Guess MONEY or more important.
De La Hoya started out at 130lbs lets not forget. oscar and Tito both jumped 4 or more weight classes respectively. the diffrence being Tito started at 147lbs.
Lets pronounce it the way it is....DLH started out as a 135 pounder, he made a few token appearances at 130 lbs against no hopers at 130 lbs and challenged for the vacant WBO title there for the sake of grabbing a title at that weight class knowing that his mission was to win titles in multiple weight classes. DLH starved himself to make 130 lbs but was really not that. .....so as far as I'm concerned, DLH made his start into the World ranks as a lightweight! .....he would have never competed against the like of Azumah Nelson at that time at 130 lbs, he'd have been decapitated by the Professor, had DLH weakened and starved himself to fight against a true World Champion at 130 lbs!
Oscar would be blasted out at 170 by anyone decent - he just doesn't have the power to compete at that weight. He should retire now.
