I skimmed through this article at the newsstand and Oscar doesn't try to claim Chavez was prime or anything like that in the book.

He said that at 33, Chavez was "living off his reputation" and had a lot of wear and tear on his body due to 100 professional fights and his hard living.

I have no problems with him owning the Ring and placing an ad for the book, as anyone has the right to buy ad space. But when you include a whole excerpt of your book in FEATURE ARTICLE space, and then have inflammatory statements about someone (in this case Chavez) without offering any rebuttal article or pro-Chavez statements anywhere else in the magazine to offset bias, then THAT is what you call a conflict of interest.

I don't see how anyone could argue with that.

In other words, if Oscar wants to push his agenda on the magazine, that's perfectly fine. But if he does that, then he gives up the right to say that there's a "Hands Off" approach or that the magazine will maintain its unbiased, objective integrity.

Or that The Ring's champion is truly the people's champ.

THE RING is a boxing-related magazine and his book advertises boxing as well as his self, where did you expect him to advertise it?, in a playboy magazine?

What's the point of picking on every single move Oscar does?, this obsession is getting out of hand and you're proving nothing.

Oscar bought it. Why not call the magazine "Oscar Illustrated" and only have features on GBP fighters. While we are at it, might as well give only GBP fighters RING belts as well.
