Oscars big announcement on 3/6, Gamboa? If not, what?

    So, Oscar is supposed to make his big sport changing announcement on Tuesday, 3/6/12.

    Do you think it will involve Gamboa? Perhaps leaving Top Rank to work with GBP or a shared contract with GBP and Mayweather Promotions?

    Or something else? Comeback, TV contract, Barclays Arena news, something like that?

    If I had a gun to my head, I would say Gamboa just because the rest is pure speculation. In terms of his actual tweet and the words he used about shaking up the industry, one would think it would involve CBS fight broadcasts or some news on viewing platforms. We shall see.

    I'll bump this, so jump in feet first with a good prediction.

    Everything points to a TV agreement with CBS.

    Hopefully its not Gamboa as this isnt really a sport changer.
    Just the usual boxer moving promoter, leading to a lawsuit/inactivity & we do miss out on the terrific Rios-Gamboa bout.

    I think something network TV related is a good bet.

    The problem with it being about Gamboa is that they just went through the same thing last year with a more popular Top Rank fighter with an ambiguous contract situation and ended up having nothing to show for it. Longshot pick if this does involve Gamboa: something about Mayweather Promotions becoming a legitimate promotional entity in association with Golden Boy.

    I've heard it's the TV deal

    I've heard extensions to it which I don't believe, such as Oscar has offered to fight Felix Sturm on CBS, at the Barclays centre.

    I'm guessing, back to network tv.

    If e-popping Dana White could get those UFC meat-heads on Fox, then boxing should be definitely be making a return to network television.

    Boy did that backfire...as much as all of us wanting to watch boxing 24/7 i really think cbs or abc is not the way to go about it. Perhaps cable tv was the downfall of boxing and viewrs just got tired of watching all the tkme. Just like ufc i want to bust my tv every time theres a new mma network on

    it already tried to return on NBC featuring Fat Eddie Chambers and Serhei the fat wolf lycovich...and once again boxing ****s it up by fat eddie pulling up lame and pulling out less than 12 days before it aired....
