You glossed over problems from the very begining. When Oscar turned pro, he turned his back on the promotional team that was investing in him while he was an Amatuer. They even paid for the funeral, when his mother passed away! Then while coming up, Bob Arum instead of building Oscar up to the Mexican fans. He matched De La Hoya up with the Smaller local beloved Mexican fighters in the LA area. Which created alot of opposition to him from the get go. Then he was matched with Chavez.... Which created a love/Hate relationship with the Mexican fans.

More like a Hate/Hate relationship with the Mexican fans. Oscar wont show his face when Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. or Omar is in the house, because his Golden Ass will get embarrassingly booed out of the Arena.

since when in a loss was de la hoya every outclassed or badly behind on the cards? answer NEVER. I think oscar would beat cotto even now, and would suprise margarito whether he won or lost. oscar is one of the best boxing technicians of our generation. remember oscar lost by a split decision to the clear # 1 p4p fighter in boxing just recently.

You're talking about the poll that The Ring does at the end of the year.

They poll trainers, fighters, writers once a year. Chavez was 8th in that poll at the end of 1995, and Tszyu was not ranked.

The Ring's rankings (not their poll) had Tszyu in the top 10, and Chavez's last year on The Ring's top 10 p4p was 1993.
