mayorga was all physical..no 'karma', but a willpower to rival anyone.

he reminds me of michael jackson in a twisted way - theres no ****ing way you want to be him but you have to admire what he had.

Probably not quite as good as mayorgas, who never went down @ 147.
Guys like Campas, Castillo, and Mayorga are guys that hurt your hands and smile at you

aye that can be disheartening for a fighter.

but a smart fighter needs to understand that a lot of fighters who are like this ARE like this because they have a chin to carry them through what weaknesses they have.

there's plenty of testosterone in boxing, trust me i know, and the worst thing a fighter can do is let that overtake him and try to pummel guys like this just to prove a point.

fighters who dont have chins like this need to be smarter and think on a bigger playing field than those who do.

I loved everything about Mayorga, a true villain of the ring.

I think Mosley has a better chin than Mayorga, Oscar, Tito, and Vargas

Good call, Mosleys chin has been tested all through his career and has stood the test of time.

Mosley was almost ko by a lesser puncher than Vargas, Mayorga and Mosley himself.

    Explain that.

It must take a special amount of focus and courage to fight guys like that and not be discouraged. Trying to ko them is a bad idea but becoming gun-shy is just as bad.

you dont have to be gun-shy, but a lot of times you have to understand that a fighter who can get where he is because he has a granite chin - and hasn't cracked anythign above you is because he doesnt have the skills to do it.

you expect these guys to try and rough it up because thats how they like to play. its not about courage, its about self-discipline and being smarter than the guy you're fighting.
thats not always easy to do because ego is a big part of fighting.
