You guys criticizing me must have been listening to Emmanuel Steward and Harold Letterman ... How many times did Steward say that Oscar was fighting a brilliant fight ... Oscar is putting on a tremendous performance ... Oscar has the best jab in the business, I always thought that his best punch was his left jab.
So you judge fights based upon how a fighter looks afterwards! :rofl :rofl I didn't even listen to the commentators b/c we had 27 people over all making noise.....but one thing was clear to everyone.....Forbes LOST! I even think Ray charles woke up from the dead and gave a shut out score card for Oscar from the grave. It really wasn't that hard to score. Forbes did well but I didn't think DLH was gonna KO Forbes. He's a very solid fighter and a very skilled fighter. I thought it would be closer to be honest. but it was a shut out and RJJ foreman or lewis would have said the same thing that DLH won easily althought Forbes did well in spots...he was just over matched.
Did you watch the fight? Did you see Oscar's face? .... the wasn't the result of losing one round ... did you see how many ineffective punches were being thrown by Oscar? Did you see how many times Oscar missed ... yet the commentators were calling them near misses when it was obvious that none of them even grazed Forbes? Out of all those bull**** shoe shine flurries ... only one punch would land if any. I judge a fight based on effective punching ... the punch output has nothing to do with the outcome of the fight ... if it did, we would have alot more undefeated elite fighters in the sport. Not once did he hurt Forbes to the point were he could knockout Forbes. Not once did have Forbes pinned against the ropes or in a corner ... Just because he bounced on his toes a bit ... just because he pumped his jab a bit more ... just because he went 12 without getting gased? come on now ... he was still straight up and stiff ... he still lacked head and shoulder movement ... he still showed signs of fatige and fought a couple of rounds flat footed.
Oscar knew Forbes couldn't hurt him. Oscar left himself open too much looking to stop him, that's why his face was so peppered.
Meaningless? Nothing that he threw as meaningless b/c either they were scoring, casuing damage, setting up or all of the above. Sure Forbes caught many of the punches and slipped some as well, but he was still eating jabs all night...he as consitantly taking great body shots and was still getting caught with rights and left hooks. Forbes has never been KO'd or KD so that says a lot about his skill and defensive game. Forbes isn't too much smaller than DLH. But he isn't as fast or as powerful, but that doesn't automatically mean that he has to get a KO. Gomez is not forbes! Gomez is a decent CONTENDER! Forbes is a former World Champ who never lost his title in the ring. Don't get yourself twisted.
I didn't hear **** nor needed to to understand what I was watching....it was clear as day. Maybe they were biased but even with that said the right man won and the lopsided score cards were valid. You're score card seems to be really far fetched. 113-115 for stevie seems you were on LSD. But seriously your card is crazy.
Don't get what twisted? Either you give Oscar all the credit in the world or you give Steve Forbes some credit.
Oscar's face showed the signs of the fight but it wasn't bad. The marks were more visible than usual because he had to lose a lot of weight in the last few days and when you gain a lot of pounds of water between the weigh-in and the fight, your skin (also the skull) is getting a bit softer.
I didn't score the fight for Forbes ... WTF are you on ... do you guys know how to read. I scored it 115-113 in favor of DLH ... I think that Forbes put up a bigger fight than most think. I didn't have it as a white wash and I felt that some rounds Forbes was more competetive and did enough to steal them. I'm not going to say that Oscar did alot ... all he was doing was throwing some bull**** ... none of that **** was even landing ... he left himself open because he's stiff and has no head or shoulder movement. ha ha ha ... Some of you guys kill me ... There is no way if you watch that fight over again if you would see a white wash on the scorecards.
I agree many of the rds were very close. Oscar probably got the nod by the judges as he was the one pushing the fight.
