Meh. It's all about exactly where & how a punch lands, the amount of times getting hit in the same spot etc.. How a fighters face looks alone does NOT tell you who won, or even necessarily who landed more clean shots. I thought everyone knew this.
I give steve credit for how he preformed and I give DLH credit for how he preformed....but I'm not biased towards one fighter or the other. "Twisted" meaning comparing Forbes to Gomez is hysterical. Comez isn't on Forbes level and probably never will be. But Forbes is a former World Champ and he is proven to be a very skilled fighter. Comparing Gomez to Forbes was what I considered "Twisted".
atsch I thought you actaully had Forbes winning! Now its not so crazy......But the score is still WAY off!
Yes it does even if most arent landing and your opponent isnt throwing nothing in return. You scored it 7 rounds to 5 you dont know Boxing.
Fitz, you gotta understand that Oscar was using this fight as a template of what he was going to do against Floyd. This mean, he was going to use the jab more, which he did, as it looked faster and with more snap than the one he used against Mayweather, not to mention he was doubling it up. Oscar also fought like the taller figher, and he was aggressive. He kept his hands in a position to block straight punches while being able to move foward aggressively. He blocked the majority of Forbes punches, but because he was the aggressor, trying to press the fight, it's inevitable that he's going to get hit. And as far as never having Forbes in trouble? He had him in trouble several times during the fight. He caught him once with a flush left hook where Forbes stutterstepped, and then caught him with several punches in which Forbes had to resort to doing some kind of a dance. And I can't remember every incidence, but at no point did it look like Oscar was going to lose the fight. Forbes had his moments, but Oscar's determination, jab, and combinations on the inside made it a lopsided affair. I don't see how you gave Forbes all of those rounds. The only dissapointment, well not to me but to Oscar, was that he didn't knock Forbes out.
It was one punch that ****ed his face up. It was a left uppercut by Forbes that Oscar didn't see. It hit Oscar in his right eye.
What rounds were close? :huh I mean...forbes did well in spots but when did he make any rounds close?
But remember that at many times oscar's jabs were countered by floyd. And a theory is that that's the reason oscar stopped jabbing.. All in all however, the jab vs floyd was pretty effective imo; kept him at bay and was able to set up other punches. But in the end it's just an over the top, way past his prime oscar vs a very good and closer to his prime floyd.
