De La Hoya looked healthy at 145lbs. He never looked gaunt and drawn around the cheeks. This is the lightest he has ever weighed as a welterweight. His fight at jr welterweight against Gonzalez was the last time he weighed lighter than tonight.

If he was struggling with the weight as much as some made out to be, he would have came in as close to 147lbs as possible. 2lbs might not be much to the average person in the street, but to a boxer it's fair bit weight.

People laughed at the suggestions he was on weight over 2 weeks ago. I believed it at the time.

De La Hoya has always been a natural welterweight, regardless of his previous 7 years fighting as jr middleweight. He could have settled for fighting in either division.

De La Hoya will weight about 154lbs when he steps into the ring. Pacquaio about 146lbs. Rough estimate.
