Yup. As of February 11, 2023 Rey Vargas can no longer call himself undefeated... And why should he?

He was so slow and clumsy and ineffective and (as Foster's trainer said) GOOFY.

He didn't look like he ever should've been a champion! What a disappointment.

I lost 750 on Vargas and I'm not ashamed to say it. Foster showed up and got the job done in fashion. Hats off to you.

I am still amazed Vargas managed to win belts in 2 divisions. Dude is an overachiever in my book.
But Foster did a lot better than I expected. I do admit I had seen very little of him beforehand, but it was enough for me stay away from betting on this fight.

Vargas is very basic and has no plan B.

This is an example where a fighter would have been better off abandoning his jab, because all it was doing was priming Foster defensively for what was coming next. Vargas should have used more feints, tried to get a reaction from Foster and then throw his power shots.

RV wasn't some elite monster. He was a basic fighter with a little bit of toughness. I wasn't even a little surprise that he won.
