He was stopped previously in the 1st and 2nd round respectively by Timur Kerefov and Yamaguchi Falcão - neither one a puncher, and Farías has also been dropped in 5 of his victories on the Argie domestic scene.

IBO title at stake*, third defense of Iglesias.

*incidentally, the belt was inaugurated 32 years ago in Ontario.

11 of Iglesias' 12 victories and 13 of Ivanov's 18 have come by stoppage.

 

Round 1

Iglesias is jabbing high. Ivanov is circling and tossing lead rights at the body. Cuffing right hook by Iglesias. Ivanov tries batting Iglesias' gloves down to run inside and score a right. Iglesias blocks with his left forearm. Pair of power shots for Iglesias miss, a looping left and right hook as Ivanov leans back. Lead left by Iglesias. Ivanov popping the left jab into the high guard. Sweeping body hook by Iglesias, then a left hand feint up top before throwing one for real. Ivanov blocks a sweeping left and is grazed by a right upper-hook. Ivanov eats a couple of jabs, then presses inside where they tie up after Iglesias smothers himself with some attempted inside shots. Iglesias is jumping in and out, pressing Ivanov into the ropes, tickling his ribs with a right hook. Left hand connects for Iglesias. Clinch.

Round 2

Iglesias is leading with the right hook and looking to land a left cross or uppercut on the orthodox fighter coming in. Ivanov being careful, working behind the high left jab, using his extended arm to deflect some fire. Ivanov getting inside but not getting many shots off. They are tying up and spinning away from the ropes whenever the Ukrainian's pressure results in a mutual stall. Iglesias whipping right hooks around the guard and opening up with combinations that get Ivanov ducking and shelling up. Not much getting through except those first glancing right hooks.
