Crazy long odds on this... Orobio is a -3000 favorite, and "Bazooka" Basurto is an +890 underdog.

..not hard to see why, as Basurto is dribbled off the canvas in R1.

    10-7 Orobio

I'm frankly shocked that we're getting a second round here.

"Bazooka" (which ESPN Knockout's play by play commentator amusingly pronounces as "Bah-Soo-Gah") enters 10-8, with all ten wins and half of his losses coming by KO.

He was stopped in round three by Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz way back in 2017 at lightweight. So that's par - Orobio needs to end it this round.

...er, once they get all that moisture wiped off the canvas, that is.

I can see why the WBC might have been hesitant to sanction this for even a minor title of theirs like the Continental Americas... it's a huge mismatch.

On the other hand, Basurto is proving incredibly brave and resilient. He has no business being here in the third.

edit: and like that, it's over. Orobio matches Cruz's par. (albeit a division north and eight years later)

    Orobio improves to 15-0 (13).

IDK...his record is a bit less padded than a stereotypical Colombian banger's, just by dint of building it up in Canada instead of back home - but I'm going to remain unconvinced that he's the goods until we see him face & overcome some adversity.

According to a graphic that flashed onscreen a few minutes ago, next up is a bonus match not listed on the card's BoxRec page:

Alexandre Bigras Gaumont vs. Sofiane Khati, 10 rounds @ middleweight

Not sure what the hold-up is with these Gaumont vs. Khati ring walks...

edit: uh, they're not happening at all, it turns out?
