Shishkin is circling to his left, putting a left jab alternately into the breadbasket and face of Iglesias. Southpaw jab feints by the Cuban, but not pulling trigger on any, except to shoot into Shishkin's left wrist and neutralize his. Iglesias opening up with right hooks and overhand or looping lefts in combination early. Crowd getting excited. Shishkin keeping his hands up and catching most of the shots, however. Iglesias keeps tossing in sets of 2-4 punches. Shishkin patiently working in behind a jab and trying for some body shots or high 1-2s. Grazing right hook by Iglesias while bending over to his side stepping in. Iglesias lots of flash, but not landing much.

This is for the IBO title (Iglesias' fourth defense) but more importantly it's an IBF eliminator.

 

Huh. Everybody on Twitter saw the 1st as dominant for Iglesias. I guess maybe if it were a flashy combo throwing competition and not an actual match where scoring flush matters...

If he gets robbed again - which feels disturbingly likely here - he might want to consider it a sign from the universe to stay the hell away from Germany based Cubans.

At least Iglesias isn't a runner, though, unlike Scull, so there's a marginal chance Shishkin can catch him with a big shot and maybe take it out of the judges' hands.

 

Judges will have 100% given Iglesias the third.
