    This was for the WBA regular title at 168lbs, btw ...Morrell had won the interim belt in his third pro fight and was elevated in January. Now, in his 5th, he is a legit world champ with an official defense.

    (er, kind of. I know some folks disregard all but the "super" version of the WBA).

    The Martinez card in Mexico was pretty damned fun, but yeah...top to bottom I enjoyed this one just a little more. Certainly the best PBC on Fox card this year, and it's right up there with the Figueroa-Nery card for best PBC card of 2021.

    Morrell impresses again.

    Excellent Sunday night's boxing there. I was really hoping to see a grotesque haematoma caused by a deliberate butt and a young prospect suffer a confidence destroying brutal KO loss in front of their home fans tonight but you can't have it all and the CW Level slugfest more than made up for it.

    It's insane to me that a guy with 5 professional fights - amateur experience be damned - is ready for Canelo, but I can't think of an argument against it.

    Hooefully they can make it happen. That would be a good fight with undefeated prospects, but i doubt it will happen until one of them gets a strap.
