Lawson is a very dirty fighter once someone gets inside his reach. Holding the arms, grabbing the head, elbows in the face, leaning on Gallimore. Reeks of being a mentally and physically frail fighter.

Well... Lawson was winning the 7th, until he wasn't.

Tactical 7th, both tired, good work in spurts by either. Gallimore whipping some hard arm punches on the body. Lennox correctly observing that he isn't turning over his stuff and digging with his knuckles. Lawson ultimately in control overall with jobs hooks and feints.

    68-65 Lawson

Lawson looks absolutely winded by those left hooks to the body and had to wrestle and clinch a lot to close out the round, Gallimore is crude in his approach but strong and consistent

Lawson only won that round on volume, because both barely landed anything clean. Dead even for me.

They kind of negated each other and fought to a stalemate in R8. Gallimore busier at times but can't sustain.

    77-75 Lawson

You didn't think that absolutely savage right that had Lawson out on his feet for the last 30 seconds was enough to give an already competitive round to Gallimore?

Lawson pulled a Broner earlier. He literally locked up both of Gallimore's arms tightly beneath his own and then when Gallimore tried to wriggle free from his octopus embrace and was a bit naughty with his head the ref actually admonished Lawson who was whining about the head going in for locking him up instead which was nice to see.

Lots of rabbit punches in the clinch. Veteran guile by Gallimore there - "just make as much contact as you can by whatever means until the ref says boo".

And honestly if the ref is going to penalize him for dirty infighting, he would also need to at least warn Lawson for excessive holding.

What is it with all these "slick" American fighters with excessive holding and dirty elbow use? I noticed it's really common among them to be using all these dirty tactics. Are they taught to engage like this on the inside? It's terrible sportsmanship, I'll tell you that.

I think we all agree that Lawson will lose his 0 tonight and if not he's gonna lose it pretty soon once he steps up above the Gallimore level. Which isn't a high level tbh.

Make it a dogfight and work the body and you beat him senseless. A bit of size would help too obviously because Lawson is a tall dude.

Yeah that's why I implore trainers to study the Slick Gypsy Style aka the gold standard instead. It's hideous to watch too.

No, I'm not agreeing to the first part. It'll be a draw or a 6-4 win for Lawson... unfortunately. Although the second half, you're spot on. We now definitely know who'll win the battle of the lanky LMW beanpoles. Fundora all day. It might last 2 rounds tops.

I'm not home, walking & watching the fight on my phone while keeping an eye on my whereabouts (on a main drag too, so can't even hear the commentators too clearly over the din of traffic)...didn't see the big shot, but did think Lawson won the first two minutes and in the last few moments he looked more just the same fatigued he already had been than on ***** St. :nusenuse:

Speaking of huge Gallimore right hands that had Lawson ready to go with 30 seconds left in a round, though, I did catch the beaut in R10. :sisi1

Strong finish by Nate, who nets a draw on my card (or maybe noses ahead by a point, pending a 7th round rewatch)
