Champion jockey Stathi Katsidis had a cocktail of drugs and alcohol in his system when he died last October, a coroner's report has revealed.

The premiership-winning jockey had consumed a cocktail of the drugs fantasy, ecstasy, cocaine, methylamphetamines and alcohol in a 15-hour binge before his death.

I believe it's extremely dangerous, but Anton is Anton, who in typical Slovene fashion can't help himself.
Having said that, I always wondered why 2 brothers (supposedly very close) always challenged each other who is going to end up greatest??
    ATM.......Neither
IMO, Michael's ambition is as good as farked

it took gatti a while to get a world title, im not 100% certian but i think he did change trainers that eventually helped win him a world title shot, i feel katsidis needs to do the same, Smith has taken him as far as he can take him as a trainer, i just hope he doesnt give up on USA and only fights domestic fights in AUS, which would be a waste of talent.

He is durable and can mix it with the best he just needs to brush up on his tool kit, someone like Roach would be very helpful to Katsidis and his fight style.

Michael is a fighter not a calculating boxer....take 6 to land one. I doubt anyone would be able to change his street fight attitude.

All things aside, I agree with this post, you have just posted the most sensible post I have read on Katsidis. I also like the comparison with Gatti, apt.

Anton, i think Katsidis style took a dramatic change when he got on an international card against Earl in England, its what took him to the USA market imo and its quite possible that this is exactly what Smith wanted. It would appear if that was the plan it has worked out finacially for both guys as apposed to fighting in Australia, not to mention the exposure he has recieved.

You are correct Anton, if he contuines to take 6 to land one against elite fighters he wont win that many of them and the accumilation of these fights would take its toll cutting his career short if it hasnt done so already.

Glad we agree on something Dberry, i rekon if Smith does really care about Katsidis he will take him to the next level by putting him with roach for the next 6 months solid.

Sadly I suspected drugs straight up. Sad, he was a good jockey and close to Mick.

9 times a fatal dose? That's unbeleiveably reckless, almost cause for further investigation. . . .unless he was going on benders to help maintain weight, but still 9 times. . . .would anyone knowingly do that to themsleves?
