He can land those flush punches on the chin, regularly. Just look what he did to Kessler and Froch... and to Dawson. He landed on them.

If he lands like that on Bute or Dirrell... and why shouldn't he... they're going down. And even if they're not... they're getting beat badly.

 

First of all he won't land as much on Dirrell, the Yank just won't be there for the taking. Second Bute will put him at respect with his power as did Green and Froch making him hug more and only scoring from close range. Only a blood/cuts caused TKO/Stoppage can happen. He also didn't ever taken serious damage on the stomach while in close range you never know how he'll react to that.

 

His hometown had NOTHING to do with the domination displayed last night, I agree he should try taking his show on the road, too get his name out there better. Vegas or Brooklyn would be best case scenario's to showcase his talents, the man is gonna be a ATG so I agree with you about needing to take his show on the road.

Of course Whitaker fought at home at The Scope quite often in the first decade of his career, so we might just want to give him time, he'll come around :yep

Why do you harbor such ill will towards Ward? He not only one of the 3 greatest fighters in the game today, but also a very humble, soft-spoken and respectful man. Everybody has their reasons for not liking a particular person, so to that extent I can understand not caring for him as a person. However, as a fighter he is excellent and a cut above the rest, the elite...So...What's not to like there?

 

Oh yeah, because Green was so effective losing all 12 rounds by a landslide and Froch did a whole lot better losing all but 3 rounds. Yipee!

I don't really like lairs and self proclaimed son's of god, do not really fancy his hug and jab-like shots style. Also don't like the fact that he claimed certain fighters were not worthy of stepping in the ring with him while he had Bika as a voluntary defense and fought guys like Pudwill and Green but other champions aren't worthy of his holiness. If he had used excuses like I want that fighter more than the other. I would have understood him better than ducking by he isn't worthy of fighting me (arrogant).

Dirrell? And Ward doesn't need to leave his hometown, why should he? He's the champion, has worked hard to get there and may as well make as much money whilst fighters have to come to him. Makes sense.

Not that I give any chances to Bute against Ward but many were calling him to get out of Montreal when he was the champ...But Ward did win the Super Six in Atlantic City but it's still in the same country. The real problem is the lack of good opponents.
