Wins over Gbenga, Byron Mitchell, and fellow prospect Alexander Johnson had people beaming with over his potential. He was dominant in his win over 2 time champ Byron Mitchell.

Amateur success is no guarantee of pro success they are two totally different things. I don't think Solis was that good of a Pro to begin with his resume is awful and the few decent fighters he fought beat him. His best win is Monte Barrett or Ray Austin :rofl

Don't think you can deny that his poor work ethic cost him more than anything else.. I hate Solis, but it's the truth. Not going to say he would have been some ATG like his insane fans like to claim, but he would have been in the mix for quite some time.

'in shape' Solis never impressed me. The only elite guy he fought KOed him in one round. His resume is very weak. Solis is really closer to a Crusierweight than a Heavyweight when in shape anyway. The guy is morbidly Obese for his frame.

I think that Tyson started to decline before reaching his full potential as well. I mean he worked really hard as a young man but turned to be lazy before reaching his full potential. Definitely he had a talent to be even better than he was.

    Kirkland Laing

flash stunningly skillful welterweight with ample power and more skill than I had ever seen in a fighter; and this was the era of Sugar Ray, The Hitman and the Marvelous One. He had a great jab and his hand speed and combinations were phenomenal. His problem was his life style, he would rather sit around drinking and smoking weed than training.

Named. Coasted the last 3 years of his career.

One I've just thought of... James Toney. /thread.

Toney as a middleweight was awesome.

Floyd is the Michael Jackson of boxing. He started boxing at literally 18 months old. Trains daily, grueling exercise and gym routines. If you think Floyd's result in boxing is the result of 'talent' and less that of 'hard work' then you're insane.
