    There's no way Ottke's resume is far greater.

    I don't know how he comes to that conclusion.

    Calzaghe schools Ward if they fought, no doubt about that.

    Calzaghe's only concern in the fight would be not suffering the headbutts/cuts/swelling that Kessler did against Ward due to Ward's negative tactics.

    Other than that, it's a beatdown win for Calzaghe. Ward would do better than Lacy did, but Ward is simply not at Calzaghe's level.

    If Calzaghe doesn't have to fear your power, you have almost no shot at beating him. Ward has very little power, and certainly not enough power to bother Calzaghe, so it's just "protect yourself from the headbutts" and an easy "W" for Joe.

    Nope. Easy win for Calzaghe.

    Ward doesn't have anything for Joe. Wrong style.

    Short arms, no power, tires late.

    Joe wrecks him. Like I said, there would likely be shades of Calzaghe-Lacy in the fight but not at the same level.

    Ward has nothing to get Joe's attention. Joe is faster, has a much higher workrate and can also hit harder if he needs to.

    Ward is not in Calazghe's class. He's not.

    The only issue for Joe is the headbutt stuff. Other than that, it's easy work.

    Here's a hint at how easy the fight would be for Calzaghe. These are reach statistics.

    Lacy = 74"
    Kessler = 74"
    Calzaghe = 73"
    Ward = 71"

    Calzaghe would toy with Ward. Just clown him.

    You're like a child that wandered onto the site and who figured out how to type a couple of phrases. Stop embarrassing yourself.

    I've probably been watching the sport longer than you've been alive.

    Here's a tip: try to take on arguments that a poster makes rather than attack the poster. You're coming off like a mouth-breathing moron right now.

    The Kessler fight proved Calzaghe was not in Wards class. Your delusions prove nothing. Joe went life and death with Kessler in the first half.

    Kessler was utterly dismantled and stopped by a green Ward.

    Ward woulda gave Joe a boxing lesson. His fight with old Hop proved he woulda lost to a younger , fresher , fitter Hop and that is Ward.

    Ottke not. No way. But Calzaghe was better.

    Funny fact that all three are hometown fighters who won't travel

    The Kessler fight was Joe taking on a 39-0 stud with serious power. Joe didn't duck Kessler like Ward supposedly did Bute. He fought him, and beat him.

    The problem for Ward, as I mentioned before, is that he doesn't have the reach (or the power or the style) to keep Joe at a distance with some fear like Kessler did.

    Nobody had solved Kessler until Calzaghe did. And Joe respected Kessler's power.

    Ward's short arms and lack of power means Joe has no fear and it would become a Calzaghe tee-off session like what happened with Lacy.

    Would Ward land some shots and get some punches in? Sure he would. Ward is an excellent fighter with quick hands and great inside fighting ability.

    It's not enough, though. A fighter like Kessler (with real power) or BHop is a much greater threat to Calzaghe than someone like Ward is. It's just the wrong match-up for Ward.

    Joe is the GOAT SMW. Jones is probably better HTH (supreme super athlete) but Joe's got the resume over Roy in the division.

    Roy might be the only fighter in the history of the division who could out-athlete Calzaghe. Calzaghe was a freak athlete (speed, work rate, reflexes, combinations) and no one save Roy is going to beat Calzaghe fighting on Calzaghe's terms. You have to beat him with power as a strong part of the mix.

    Ward can't do that.
