Ottke vs Reid---unreal---

it was an awful fight if i remember.

i had reid winning by 3 pts.

ottke just sucked.

he was horrible on the night.

the ref was so biased.

The offical scores were heavily in favour of Ottke, I had Reid winning by about 2-3 rounds even without the knockdown, but he still got robbed.

he gave up fighting after the 6th coz the referee was looking to disqualify him, in the first 6 rounds Ottke barely landed a punch. Reid was by far the better boxer and everyone who say that fight knows it.

 

Only time I have ever seen a fighter warned for HITTING another fighter. Not hitting low...or hitting on the clinch...or hitting behind the head...BUT HITTING THE OTHER GUY!!!

Yea...absolutely disgraceful, Reid was deadset robbed in this fight, and was fighting 2 people at once.

Ottke the cheat.

One of Reid's post fight comments was something like "at least Dick Turpin wore a mask" Reids corner told him he was down on the cards after about 3 rounds and he couldn't believe it. If there was ever evidence of corruption in boxing this was it

 

Believe it or not there are a couple of people who think that Ottke won. Bobo Olson is one poster here who thinks that.
It wasn't that the scoring was that bad (although it was pretty poor) but that fat **** the ref. The original result should be declared void and Tilleman should be tossed into a pit filled with very hungry Baboons who are probably on amphetamines!:fire

 

Actually the fight was pretty close. The only reason for that of course was Reid knowing damn well he'd have been DQ'ed if he contrinued to fight as he did in the first half of the fight.

Although the overall scores don't look that bad the judges had Ottke winning the early rounds which he lost convincingly and Reid being given rounds later on when he didnt/couldnt do much to even it up a bit. The scoring was **** poor. The reffing was worse.

 

Oh I agree the scoring was poor but I've seen worse. It was just the overall corruption that surrounded Otkke which concealed the fact that he was a perfectly competent world class boxer. It's completely his own fault that everyone asumes that all his fights were fixes however.
He did his reputation no favours and is rightly despised by most in boxing.
The reffing was as dispiriting as anything I've seen in a ring. I seriously considered not watching boxing after that.

 

I remember watching it live on BBC years ago and couldn't believe what I was watching. Really felt for Reid and I'm suprised he kept his cool and never clipped the ref.

 

It was disgraceful,but i will add that Ottke had received plenty of gifts before and Reid's robbery was only possible because of this.

Meaning,Ottke shouldnt have had the belt for Reid to fight for anyway,Glen Johnson or someone should have had it.
He was only allowed the chance to be robbed,because others had been robbed before him.There was already a queue of victims.

Make sense?

 

Ottke could've slid out the ring, grabbed his stool and belted Reid over the head with it, and the ref would've scolded Reid for not dodging the blow.

Then probably docked him a point for damaging ring equipment.

 

I've never seen this fight before now, just watched on youtube - **** me Reid was ROBBED!!!!!!! No wonder the man's drive has gone, how many times will this dud get decision raped?!?!?!

History will never remember Ottke though cause when you look at these fights you know the man was a fraud but what I don't get is people still comparing Joe to Ottke, I mean you watch this fight then watch joe vs Reid and Joe wins decisively even with a busted hand too then you watch Ottke here and well.....it's evident really isn't it?
