I have always rated Otto Wallin as one of the world's best heavyweights. That's why I didn't understand why Matchroom wanted to match Dillian Whyte against Wallin because Whyte would lose.

Both AJ and Whyteleafe ducked Wallin, Whyteleafe at least went on to face fury..

AJs team were publicly offered Wallin on numerous occasions but chose to face absolute bums like taxi driver Franklin Shot pulev and shot Helenius instead. “Wallin needs to earn his shot at Joshua, do you understand what I’m telling you koogs”

Wallins promoter dmitiri salita worked with Hearns junior no problems at all on other fights but when it came to Wallin Joshua suddenly they couldn’t get the deal done, same as they could never quite get the deal done for AJ to get in the ring with Ortiz, Joyce, Zhang, Wilder, Fury etc…

    “AJ has sponsorship obligations koogs!”

Yeah lacks a KO punch you're dead right. He couldn't find it in the 12th round against Fury, had Breazeale on struggle street for about 11 of the 12 rounds yet still somehow couldnt finish Breazeale off, and now against Gassiev. If he had that killer punch, he'd be an even bigger threat to the division.

He's a bit like the Chelsea football side in front of goal currently. Finds his way through and has plenty of opportunities to put them away, but can't find that final finish ( obviously he's a bit more successful than Chelsea right now haha).

Yeah sad but true. No reason why Wallin can't get a shot next at AJ if AJ has no decent opponent lined up.

Hearn stated last week that he has no problem fighting Zhang.

That would be a great fight to win next if he could pull it off.

I've always said that Wallin is one of the most underrated heavyweights in the sport. I think he´s in the top 20 in the heavyweight division :)

People may not like it but it's undeniable that Wallin was seen as too big a risk for Joshua coming off those Usyk defeats.

Why fight Franklin instead? No one knew who he was and he was far less accomplished than Wallin. It's because the literal part time factory worker Franklin was much smaller, non-southpaw, less athletic, less skilled and far less tenacious than Wallin.

If they thought that Wallin was easy work then Hearn would have made the fight to get one up on Fury. But despite having home and A-side advantage, Wallin was seen as too dangerous. Whyte thought the exact same and he was clearly right. This is the only rational conclusion we can come to.

Didn't he say that Wallin was a "third tier fighter" while Gassiev and Whyte were "first tier fighters"? I'm certain he did.

He'll change tack and claim that Wallin is a more significant win for Fury than Wilder.

Totally agree with your considerations. The version we have seen of AJ in the last 2 fights will lose to Wallin.

Hrgovic would be the mandatory next as he beat McKean in an IBF eliminator, but yeah, AJ is 3 and Wallin is at 9 with the IBF so no reason why it couldn't be an eliminator for the spot behind Hrgovic if they ever stepped in the ring with each other.

I've also noticed in the rankings that Kabayel is at 7, so expect his name to be thrown around as it always does.

Would be a perfectly acceptable fight but I'm not holding my breath that it gets made at the same time.

I could see a situation where Joshua gets a points decision in London, perhaps a controversial one. They wanted to avoid that outcome as having a 114-114 type fight with Wallin would dent Joshua's confidence and reduce his popularity far more than winning a wide decision over Franklin.
