He’s kind of a brawler but he can box a little bit too,” revealed Wallin when speaking to *******. “He’s got a good left hook and he’s a good body puncher so those are things I’ve got to be aware of. I think that in the long run it takes a toll to have hard fights like that. He’s been knocked out twice and he’s taken a lot of punishment and he’s been hurt in different fights.” Wallin added, “I think he’s a good fighter, he’s highly ranked. He’s been in a lot of tough fights, and honestly, I think he’s been aging a little bit lately. He’s been in many wars and he’s a good fighter but I think I’m better. I’ve got a lot of tools to work with, I’m intelligent and I’m fresh, so I think that’s to my advantage.”

I agree with him, Whyte has been in some very tough fights, the two Chisora fights were hard for him, Parker was a tough nights work, Rivas got difficult and Povetkin took a year off his career with that KO.

Even Wach dragged him the distance, sure Whyte was overweight and didn't look anywhere near fit but he had to work hard.

And it all adds up, There are only so many times you can go to the well.

They picked Wallin for 2 reasons:

    1. He's not a puncher and the officials will favour Whyte
    2. Whyte could make a statement to Fury by stopping him

Wallin has: amateur pedigree, the better corner, intelligence, discipline, durability, height, athleticism, youth, hunger, less wear and tear, fewer defeats, no KO's or KD's suffered as a pro (Whyte x2 and x4) less pressure, fewer fights to study, southpaw stance

Whyte has: home/A-side advantages, punching power, pro experience

Both are skilled, rough and tenacious. It's a very good fight.

A baboon is probably more intelligent than Whyte. Not interesting.

    Whyte hits harder though

Hes abit like Wilder glarigg flaws but can get the job done

He punches with you like danny garcia. no doubt wallins body is his target.

Wallin has to rely on his boxing, will be forced to give up some rounds. could be a close decision.

Can't argue there. If Wallin doesn't coast too much, he should beat Shyte clearly.

I hope he is talking about boxing IQ, as he literally gave the same reason 4 times:
"it takes a toll to have hard fights like that."
"he’s taken a lot of punishment and he’s been hurt in different fights"
"He’s been in a lot of tough fights,"
    "He’s been in many wars"

Also I don't recall Whyte fighting any southpaws? Whyte doesn't have the boxing intelligence to out box a good southpaw. Although Wallin is not a big puncher he may not have to be to hurt Whyte whose chin has well and truly been cracked.

Wallin is correct on both counts.

It would be funny if Whyte got KO'd.

    Quite unfair.

Whyte has intelligence and understands the GAME but he does lack the tools and full box of tricks to be truly elite.

Whyte isn't dumb. He's made millions based on manoeuvring himself into loads of ppv's. He's a very good self promoter.

Not sure his ring IQ is that great though.

This is a really interesting fight. We still don't really know how good Wallin is and we don't know how much Whyte is damaged good given his previous tough fights.

Whyte can be sloppy fighter at times but he also has the best left hook in the divison, goes to body more effectively than anyone else in the divison and has one of better jabs in the divison.
