You know, I will never be done with boxing, but I am very close to not really caring that much anymore.
It would be cool if he fought every month but considering he s gonna be out for 6 months it s just a waste.
Wallin sure is not looking to challenge himself, his last fight being against a fighter who at the time of the fight had record of 11 wins and 24 losses.
I guess that fight against Fury was an outlier and he just aint that good. Really disappointed in his opposition selection since the Tyson fight. Has lost any momentum he had afterwards.
Indeed he did in October, but would you suggest that going from a cancelled WBC interim heavyweight title fight, to then facing a have gloves will travel (and lose) fighter like Sokolowski in February was a reasonable path to take? It of course not Wallins fault that Whyte withdrew, but you got to show a bit of ambition and Sokolowski was not that in my opinion.
To be fair I don't know what the motivation to fight sokolwski was. I would guess it was to keep busy to maintain a ranking. The Rydell Booker fight seems like a stay busy fight as well. Thats ok as long as he gets a meaningful fight lined up relatively quickly after this. I agree that he should fight someone in the top ten (same can be said for several other "contenders" as well).
