Your dead right rock, when you have a look at the path adamek has cut through the cruiserweight division, The fight that briggs took up to the much bigger man makes him a very tough unit indeed.

Well you gotta go with Vic based on their records.

I think he would stop Huss later on. Hussy had everything, was a very well rounded fighter but didnt excel in one field particularly. He had above average in speed and skill especially but his power and beard were not awesome though at the same time quite solid.

But I heard a lot of sparring stories where Hussy gave it to Vic and this led Hyder to believe he might not make it in the pros intially.
Apparently Huss did very very well against Tokuyama (WBC super champ of the time and a very good boxer) when they sparred in Japan, they called a halt to the session early. But that is just sparring and frankly just stories for all I know.

I have all those stories as well mate.
Vic has really come on in leaps & bounds, & i always felt he was much stronger mentally than Hussy.
Still tho both in their primes is a terrific matchup, that Vic would have won by a later rounds stoppage. I say around 8 thru to 11 sorta mark.

    Cheers.
Arce was relentless and broke Hussy down where I think Vic would be more timely and devastating. Without the big power component, Hussy relies on his movement and speed and I've seen Vic handle those types well enough to make me put the odds in Vic's favour.

Danny won the WBA light heavyweight title in his last match against Stipe Drews, before retiring (or at least temporarily retiring).

Good list WhataRock, and yes there's plenty more, as per some of the later posts.

I reckon the early fighters had a harder task (ie before the alphabet titles swamped world boxing). Blokes like Hec Thompson (Duran), Ferreri (Zarate) and Mundine Snr (Monzon) were just plain unlucky to be around at the wrong time.

Going back to Skinny Hussein most might not remember that he floored pacman in the 4th rd of their fight in which he eventually lost. He did seem to freeze in other world title fights almost like he didn't want to be there.

Against Larios he was up against a guy he could have beaten on paper but also stylistcally is was going to be hard for him because his pretty conservative peek-a-boo style didnt match well against the volume punching and crowding of Larios.
When Skinny punched he looked the better fighter, he made Larios miss a lot and he hurt Larios to the body a couple of times. But in the end he just couldnt keep doing that all fight. I dont think he didnt do what he had to, as in he threw the fight away by not being active enough which a lot of people unfairly claimed. He just couldnt because Larios wouldnt let him.
Skinny was fed to many guys who dropped as soon as he hit them, especially with that left rip. So he never developed a good work ethic, he didnt need to and then when he stepped up he couldnt deliver.

Harrison was limited but a very strong feather. I was impressed the way Skinny hurt him late but that was another fight Skinny seemingly had a decent shot (Harrison didnt like it to the body) but in the end he wasnt good enough.
