The current biggest names / brands in boxing are Canelo, Joshua and Pacquiao. After that there’s a big gap but the next biggest guy is Golovkin and the GGG brand.

For me some of the fighters who have the potential to be the top dogs in the future are Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Daniel Dubois and Virgil Ortiz. A guy with an outside chance to grow his brand in the not so distant future is Anthony Yarde if he manages to make the right moves.

Which fighters do you think will be the top dogs of the sport in the future?

No clue. I don't follow amateur boxing. I don't follow the prospects either until they are about championship level. I can watch about two hundred fights a year. Usually that means just following the champs.

I ran across an old article on this from ten years ago recently. They were touting Adrien Broner, Victor Ortiz, and some even less memorable names. Lomachenko, Usyk, Golovkin, Kovalev, Crawford, Inoue, Gonzalez, and Rigondeaux weren't even on the radar.

That's how these things usually go. I read an article written by Marciano from when he retired about who he thought would replace him at heavyweight. I didn't recognize one of the names because they never even became contenders.

My pick for five years from now: a Thai, a Peruvian, a Russian, and an Olympian, possibly American.

I can tell you one thing. Dubois and Buatsi will build a brand on putting people to sleep.

And I don't mean in the ring

Devin Haney will become America's next superstar. Still only young but that kid has got P4P written all over him. I hope America is getting excited about him cuz even though its early days i think when he gets experience and hits prime he is going to be something special.

Haney vs Loma could be a future superfight.

It depends how far into the future we are talking about here. 10 years is really hard to predict because the guys in their primes at that point are probably still in high school right now.

If Loma is still around in about in 3 years i could imagine that happening at 140. 3 more years experience in the bag for Haney that could be a hell of a fight. A bit hard to see anybody beating Loma right now though he is just fighting on a sickeningly high level at the moment.
