Really looking forward too this one it's the type of match up that normally doesn't happen this early on in a young fighters career. Both got totally different styles at times Joyce looks like he's punching throw water but is very heavy handed when he lands the big shots. Dubois is not a finished product yet but seems to love a slugging it out and has a great engine but can get tagged. Really wouldn't want to call this one see it as a 50/50. Gonna be a great watch tho ,like them both so win win for me
I feel Joyce is a lot better than Dubois, but you made it sound as if Joyce might be finished soon, in that case does that mean Wilder will also be finished soon, even if he goes on to beat Fury?
wilder is of course nearly finished. He’s mid thirties, relies on explosive power, limited boxing ability, it’s gonna go down hill fast. Whether you rate him of not, there’s no comparison between him an joyce. While wilder is trying to win back the WBC belt, Joyce is in a 50/50 with a prospect at nearly 34 with the British title on the line. fury won the British title at 21/22, I think DDD at 21. Levels, and Joyce has left it too late. He will be about 38-40 before he gets a shot if he wins and think how slow he will be then!
Just have to see how dubois handles the step up in opposition but yh agree with your comment. Joyce is still looking in shape for age so who knows
Dubois should knock out Joyce in the first rounds, if the fight goes to the end Joyce could win by UD...
Joyce needed this fight more than Dubois ,because at his age in this stage of his career he has to make a big move . I'm surprised Dubois management took this. I've seem them both fight and there are shortcomings to be exploited in both fighters, 50/50 and I'm leaning toward Joyce
Probably the most anticipated match up in world boxing. A proper old school domestic dust up between two Brit Level warriors where either the winner or the loser could go on to dominate the HW division for the foreseeable future. In fact, I won't be in the least bit surprised if they both capture two belts a piece and had a rematch down the road for all the marbles and world domination.
Don't disagree with that at all but think there's a lot more pressure on Joyce. Not saying he's past it at all but the clock's ticking faster for him at his age and let's face it needs the win more if he ever wants a shot at a title. With dubois being so young against the more experienced men think it would much easier to recover from career wise
Loma v Lopez is a far more important fight and Canelo v Saunders would have done better PPV numbers world wide, Americans won`t be interested in Joyce v Dubois at all, AJ v Fury would be by far the biggest fight in boxing right now.
Dubois does him easy. Re-watched Jennings v Joyce and I thought Joyce got lucky to get the decision. Thought he got outboxed by Jennings and he never really recovered from the bodyshot in round 1. If Jennings poured the pressure on a bit more instead of let Joyce throw constant arm punches that were barely landing yet being considered as scoring shots by the judges, Jennings would have walked away with a comfortable victory. Dubois TKO 7 if this fight takes place.
