out of interest - how did you score the macklin fight

:deal Macklin landed atleast 25 punches in the first round imo.

 

115-114 Sturm.:good

 

116-112 Macklin could have been 115-113

 

115-113 Strum.

I always feel the challenger has to take the belts off the holder and I don't think Macklin did enough to truely deserve taking Strums belts off him. It was a very even contest, with a few hard to score rounds. You have to say, hard to score rounds are usually going to go in favour of the champion.

Brave effort though, and did himself no disgrace at all. Proved he is capable of mixing it with the best.

 

115-113 Sturm. For the first couple of rounds Macklin seemed to have Sturm out of sorts, and his body shots were doing a real number on him. After that I felt Sturm began to land the cleaner shots as the round progressed, and overall had the better defence - but Macklin was busier, also landing good shots and was forcing Sturm to fight his fight.

Close fight that could have gone either way really. Don't agree at all that Macklin was robbed.

thing is sturm won the fight with that flurry in the 12th that made the judges minds up imo......

i thought macklin was gonna go at one point in the 12th.

im gonna watch it again later cos it was a good fight.

 

I had it 115-113 for Sturm.

 

i had 116-112 sturm had macklin winning 4 of the first 6 rounds but had Sturm winning the last 6 which means is only i round a different between 115-113( i probs gave sturm a round all the rest gave to Macklin possibly the 10th)

 

I'm gonna watch it again but Macklin won 6 of the first 8 for sure.

 

Maklin landed more but Sturm's shots generally landed with more beef, very difficult fight to score, certainly no robbery. Maklin did himself proud.

I think a draw is acceptable, scoring fights is a very subjective part of the sport, just cannot see for the life of me how Sturm could be awarded some early rounds when he would throw about 3 combinations in the closing minute. To add insult to injury you have 2 knobjockey judges who have quite clearly pulled they're scorecards from they're arseholes most likely before the 1st bell has even rung.
