Out of Joshua, Campbell, Smith and Yafai- which become world champions?

Luke Campbell

the lightweight division isnt all that.

 

I guess Joshua can take one of the 5 or 6 (PBC coming up) belts in the wasteland Klitschko leaves behind when retired, certainly because he's still pretty young.

Campbell has a very good chance to pick up some low hanging fruit in the very weak Lightweight division, like mentioned.

Callum Smith is pretty impressive, and with the SMW division on the slide (Ward gone, Kessler gone, Froch soon gone, AA on his last legs, both Dirrell's having a nag for failure) he probably can take one of the belts soon.

Yafai though is in a division that's pretty damn hot atm, chances are he falls short.

I'd say 3 out of 4

 

Joshua will unify the HW division once Wlad is gone.
Campbell will be a multiple weight world champ.
Smith will probably pick up a version of a world belt.
I really rate Yafai but I think Hearn will probably get him a fight for a vacant belt against someone like Paul Butler and not put him in with any of the top guys of the division.

there's something behind the scenes with Campbell I'm suspicious about, AJ's opponents have been criticised for being bums, yet he's fought guys who've been ranked and have fought at high (ish) levels

campbells got a decorated amateur history, why's he fighting last minute bums in his 10th and 11th fights? he's getting on a bit to still be a prospect and think he'll fall short of world title level.

 

I voted Luke Campbell think he will win at 2 or 3 weights. Smith also, think the SMW belts will change around alot over the next few years, Yafai might but not against the current super fly champs and they know that thats why Hearn wants him at fly weight

 

Anthony Joshua: I think he may have a fair chance because once Wlad is gone, HW is hardly a talent field divison ATM, but first we need to see what he's like against half decent opposition and see if he can take a decent punch (we know what happened to David Price after all) and we will hopefully see that in his next fight with Johnson.

Callum Smith: Again with the SMW division on the slide I think he has a good chance.

Luke Campbell: he definitely has talent but his opposition has been very poor and they need to step it up fairly soon because he's not exactly a spring chicken In terms of a boxing career

Kal Yafai: again he clearly has talent but he's in the strongest division of all the guys on the poll currently, he may well be good enough but I think I need to see more of him.

 

Gone for all 4. I think AJ looks terrific and think he will be a world champ one day, Luke Campbell just seems to be getting better and better and I think he will do very well and be champ ay lightweight and light welterweight, Smith again could fight in 3 or maybe 4 divisions and I can see him getting either AA or Stieglitz or if he goes another route could fight the winner of Groves vs Jack, all those fights are winnable for him. Yafai is another that has a few weights he could fight at and there are some weak champions in and around that weight, mixed in with some of the best champions in the world, so if managed carefully should have no trouble picking up a title.

 

A couple of years back there was some dude here that came up with a thread of how it would be very possible to have 13 (I believe) British worldchampions (read beltholders) at the end of the year.
Of course it was bóllocks, because he was also counting fringe guys that got or might get a voluntary titleshot just to act as cannonfodder, to have an actual chance to upset the odds.
Call me crazy, but with the talent the UK has at this time and day, plus the obviously good relation with the WBO and WBA of some of the promoters, I won't be surprised if it soon got up to about 10.

Campbell and Yafai - maybe

Callum Smith - no

 

None will be undisputed at any weight

 

Joshua and Campbell will become belt holders. They'll be fed some soft touch for a vacant belt some time down the road no matter how good they are.

Will they ever be 'the man' in their division? I don't think so but wouldn't rule it out :bbb

 

There are 2 with a pretty good chance to do that in the near future, only needing one more belt. Actually 3 but we know Floyd isn't going for it.
