Calzaghe easily....**** me that's a daft question.

also, he never got humbled like Naz and then Hatton (x2) did.

True. But Calzaghe never fought an ATG in their prime either.

In the eyes of the public Hatton ,though Joe would get my vote.
Naz fecked up big time against MAB and should have not retired a couple of fights later.

I never got humbled either, for the same reason as JC for that matter.

Calzaghe cleary has the best record on paper. But when you actually look through the opponents they have fought he would be bottom of the pile. Which ATG has Calzaghe fought in their prime?? emmm, ****ing none. Hamed and Hatton have been in there with at least one ATG fighter who was at their absolute best.

Kessler and Hopkins were the best other than Calzaghe at SMW and LHW respectively and he beat them both......two Ring magazine titles in 2 fights. That's an accomplishment.

What good is it Hatton going in with Pacquiao and getting ****ed up in 2 rounds whilst swinging wild hooks like a street brawler with no discipline?? The accomplishment isn't getting the fight it's winning the fight and that's what Hatton didn't/couldn't do.

Calzaghe didn't fight Jones Jr when he was at his best and thats a fair point/criticism but the ATGs that people mention are or were not around Calzaghe's weightclass.

Give me a break mate. Bernard Hopkins?? He was no where near his prime, plus you could argue that he edged the decision against Calzaghe. Fair dues Hatton got f**** up I totally agree with that but lets face it if Calzaghe faced a prime Jones, Toney, Hopkins he would get his ass handed to him also. Kessler was the best in his division at the time but where does Kessler rank on the ATG list??? Not very far up I'm afraid. Ring Magazine? Mate we all know belts dont mean **** no more its who you fight and when. Why is it all of a sudden Calzaghe wanted to face Jones, because he knew he was totally shot and he could get a massive payday beating up a once time great fighter who was a complete shell of a man in that fight. I respect Calzaghe as a fighter and what he has achieved but for me I'm afraid he hasnt fought enough top top level operators at their best.

Two fights, in a 46-0 career. A nice dessert to an unsatisifying meal.

mr plow is spot on in many respects.

Joe perhaps could or should have moved up and fought Jones. However, it tells you a lot about the standards he's held by when people are criticizing him heavily for failing to move up in weight. People mostly talk about "natural weights" and such, but for Calzaghe there are different standards of course.

At super middle he was very unlucky. Toney had found Burger King. Hopkins was a middleweight and when Calzaghe and Warren offered him the fight he priced himself out after accepting initially.

Who else was there? Ottke? Glen Johnson who can't even muster a winning record at this weight? He's unfortunate the era wasn't more like it is now, talent-wise.
