I thought Pac would knock out Marquez in 4, in a fun, explosive, and very decisive fight. Turns out it was a worthy fight for completely different reasons.

    I wanted Cotto and JMM...

I honestly also wanted Clottey when it was made, and gave him a shot to win. Definitely didn't think he'd look as horrible as he was.

From the time of this poll to the Pacquiao fight, all that happened was Clottey losing a close, controversial split-decision to Cotto. Clottey was a well-regarded fighter, as a very tough nut, a top welterweight name, a man who deserved a second shot at that WBO title that he challenged Cotto for, and while a heavy underdog, also considered a hard night for most guys in his weight range. Let's not reverse history because he got dominated and you don't feel you can get away with crying "shot" and "weight-drained", because you'd be too embarrassed to try and pass it off and dismiss his credibility retroactively, as seems to be the usual with Pac's opponents and so many others. :-(

I thought every one of those fights but the Mosley fight was reasonable and legit opposition for Pacquiao.

Mosley is the only fighter among them who I described as completely finished at the elite level. He had just looked completely inept in his couple of previous showings prior to the Pacquiao fight.

Pacquiao since he's in the drivers seat looks to catch opponents when they're showing weakness, but so do alot of champions.

Of the remaining fighters listed here by the thread starter, I thought it was undignified for Pacquiao to force Marquez to fight him at a catchweight when everyone knew that Pacquiao himself could make 140 lbs without even trying.
It goes without saying that team Pacquiao took the Marquez fight for two reasons.
    1. They waited for him to get old. 38 years old.

    and

    2. For insurance sake on their part, they made Marquez climb two weight divisions and jump to an uncomfortable weight for him when Pacquiao himself has been saying all along he's being have to be overfed for him
to even be fighting as a welter.

Right now this very instance for example, Pacquiao himself has expressed worry that he's underweight in his training for the Bradley fight, which is proof the Marquez fight should have been held at 140 lbs and not at Welter.

In any regards the situation is this.......
Pacquiao has been fighting decent to good opposition, but far from great.

The best fighter he has faced among them is a 38 year old past his prime great that should be fighting at lightweight right now, and that lightweight made Pacquiao look like an average everyday ordinary fighter.
By most accounts he got schooled by a past it Marquez.
