Moveing up and winning the lightheavyweight title?

Marvin Hagler champion at that time Michael Spinks

Carlos Monzon Champion at that time Bob Foster

Jake La Motta Champion at that time Joey Maxim

James Toney Champion at that time Thomas Hearns

Which of these middleweights champions do you think could go up and beat the lightheavy champion?

Well you could envisage Toney hurting Hearns late with a counter right hand, or even early if Tommy comes out guns blazing. Hearns could outbox him but the possibility's always there in my view.

LaMotta against Maxim could go either way, LaMotta would like that fight, against a guy who's willing to exchange a few counters and not use excessive movement. LaMotta was a quality counter puncher, with bunches of shots, it's possible, but like i said, Maxim could win it also.

I wouldnt write any off, mainly because Hagler/Monzon were both that good, Toney may have got HEarns late and would benefit from the higher weight limit, and Maxim was that average

I can see Toney beating Hearns at that time, and LaMotta maybe beating Maxim.
Hagler and Monzon were great but not that great that I can see Marv beating Spinks or Carlos beating Foster in any way, shape or form

I'd have to go with Tony over Hearns because with Tommy the only thing you could be absolutely certain of is FIREWORKS! James might just catch him.

No way on God's earth would Haglar ever beat Spinks. There are good reasons he never tried.
